About Minicology

Note: Demo progress and settings transfer over to the main game automatically! Locked recipes and settings will become available as soon as you load your demo save.
Survive, Craft, Battle, Automate and Explore. Minicology lets you take to the stars and travel through a procedurally-generated universe of tiny planets! Build bases, defend against invasions, terraform worlds, and engineer factories that automatically farm and mine. Minicology encourages creative solutions to everything — from cultivating plants to fighting enemies!

Immerse yourself in a world where self-sufficiency is key. Gather valuable resources, grow your own crops and learn to automate any process. Use item pipes to automate processes and transfer materials around your base, hunt for food, harness energy, and secure your water source as you navigate the challenges of this miniature universe - but it doesn't stop there — get creative and construct a fully-fledged base, that can repel invaders and stand as a testament to your survival skills.

Mechanisms and components can be manufactured from basic raw materials — but some rare items can only be found by completing events or fighting enemies. As you venture further into deep space, 900+ items and 20+ different crafting stations will provide you with countless opportunities to progress. Set up auto-harvesters and harness the simulated water cycle to make sure you’re always stocked with food, wood, and materials for your next adventure — then set up an interstellar shipping network to launch your materials back home!

As you roam the cosmos, be careful that you don’t disturb the dangerous predators of the mini-verse. Well, actually, you’ll probably want to — they’ve got some of the best loot in the galaxy! Combat isn’t restricted to weapons. Players can change the weather, automate turrets, and harness chemistry to inflict damage on bosses or morph the world around you!

Fix your rocket and take to the skies. Diverse planet clusters with different biomes await you. Fly around an endless procedurally-generated universe and expand your horizons. Find new resources, fight new bosses, and save planetary systems from certain doom by completing procedurally generated objectives. The universe is your oyster.

Minicology’s event system will keep you on your toes — each planet type has unique simulated weather and event rotations. A planet might not be the same the next time you visit! Meteor impacts will have you racing against the clock, while icy planets feature bitterly cold nights that leave you chasing for shelter — but certain rare materials will only be available during these dangerous events. Make sure you’re prepared!

I like this game. The character's movement is so funny, I can't wathing him go around on his wobbly legs and not smile. The tutorial is good, and if I remember correctly, the dev is working on making it even better. I haven't bumped into any gamebreaking bugs. The planet roundness is something that both grabbed my interest as soon as I saw it, and the thing that delayed my purchase, because I was afraid I would have motion sicness (but no, everything is okay). I love the cooking system, it is simple but entertaining, finding good combinations of foods to get best situational buffs without wasting extra nutrition is something that gave me at least 5 hours of gameplay - and I've yet to move far from my tiny tutorial planet base. Gear system is neat, with cool sets and trinkets for all situations. Many different weapons with different playstyles. Gear degrades, but can be repaired. Make sure your crowned super helmet isn't completely broken after a big fight, so you don't have to grind for rare mats again. Techonology is interesting, there is a required (for some machines) electricity system and mostly voluntary piping system, they are both easy enough to understand even i…5 found this helpful
I'd love to give this a positive review but I've played 24 hours and finally beat my first boss. The rewards are two crafting items where one item I got 3/4 needed for it's ONLY recipe. I also got a niche accessory that I will never use. The reason I would say no on this is that after some time the gameplay is pretty underwhelming, but the most heinous issue is that after you complete all objectives for a system you get the option to 'spend levels on perk'. This isn't a roguelike, and after you finish a system the chance to get a perk from it is gone. The three I got to choose from were so worthless, especially after 24 hours of gameplay. One of the choices was getting a farmable item. Because of these overwhelmingly crap choices, I chose to not select any of them, and, by closing the window, effectively made all efforts in the system worthless because the window is gone forever. The game makes it seem like completing a system unlocks a perk tree UI, but really it is just a tooltip button that lists what you have picked thus far.3 found this helpful
NO 4k support, it looks pixelated for me, no matter what i set. the ui is too clunky, theres too much to do, still keeping this on wishlist, if the dev might improve it, it might be good. for now i dont like it tho.2 found this helpful
I usually love these survival crafting games, but this one just isn't for me. I think the rotating map in particular is annoying as I sometimes get stuck while transitioning underground right where the world rotates.1 found this helpful
Minicology is a 2D sandbox survival experience that blends space exploration, automation, and creative problem-solving into a compact but surprisingly ambitious package. Developed by Isaac Denner and published by Iceberg Interactive, the game places players in a universe made up of countless tiny planets, each acting as a self-contained playground filled with resources, hazards, and opportunities for experimentation. From the opening moments, the game emphasizes curiosity and self-direction rather than scripted storytelling, encouraging players to learn systems organically through exploration, failure, and gradual mastery. Its pixel-art presentation is colorful and readable, striking a balance between charm and functionality, while the upbeat yet understated soundtrack reinforces a sense of wonder as you hop from world to world. Survival in Minicology revolves around familiar genre staples such as gathering materials, managing hunger and oxygen, crafting tools, and fending off hostile creatures. What sets it apart is how these mechanics are layered onto a planetary scale, with each small world presenting its own environmental quirks and strategic considerations. Some planets are r…1 found this helpful
