Mission: It’s Complicated feels like a smaller version of Dispatch, but it's also free, so that makes a big difference. Instead of focusing on superhero combat, it's mostly about the relationships between five heroes. You pair them up for missions and try to build a strong enough bond between them to help save the world. I liked that those bonds don't always have to be romantic. The game gives friendship and other kinds of affection some importance too, which made the matchmaking feel less shallow than I expected. The achievements are pretty easy to work through, and overall it's a nice casual visual novel to finish. It's a good game, not incredible, but for free? Absolutely worth trying. Just don't go in expecting Dispatch-level polish.

Mission: It's Complicated is a really unusual visual novel because I am basically trying to save the world by getting superheroes to fall in love. I play as Professor L and have five different superheroes to work with, and I have to match them up for missions at night and dates during the day. It sounds like a joke at first, and the game definitely knows how silly the idea is, but there is actually a decent amount of thought behind the relationship system. I am not just picking random couples and watching the story happen. I have to work out which characters fit together and then help them get closer. The five heroes can be paired in different combinations, and I like that the game does not force every relationship to be romantic. Some pairs can become close friends instead, which makes the whole thing feel less like I am simply choosing a romance route and more like I am figuring out what kind of relationship works best. It's an enjoyable superhero dating sim game. Has a good sense of humor throughout. A little hard to guess how successful your heroes will be at completing missions-but that's what adds a lot of replay value, along with the different endings.
