Mizeria

This free game is a platformer, and it is not for casual players. This is hardcore platforming and parkour. You play as Nuoli, a female archer who wakes up, in an unguarded cell, in an empty castle. You walk out of your cell, and down the hall. You will see white floating question marks along the way. Stand in/on them to find out how different keyboard controls work in the game. After a few minutes, you will find your bow. You are supposedly a renowned archer, but your archer skills do not count for much here. You will only use your bow a couple of times, and any half-ass archer could hit the targets. The only skill that really counts is your parkour skill of climbing and jumping. After another minute or two, you will come to the tower you need to escape from. Since you traveled in a direct line from your cell to this tower, and getting to the top of the tower is the only way out... thus, presumably the only way in... it should really make you wonder how in the world you got put into your cell in the first place. The tower is so tall that you cannot really see the top of it from where you enter, but trust me on this, it is going to be a looooong way up. What real…

Don't be fooled by the screenshots/video. Only a tiny portion is 'like an oldschool 3D platformer'. The rest is just one of those modern parkour games where you climb forever with bad controls.

Mizeria is an Only Up with Tomb Raider mechanics. I loved the smooth movements and animation of the main character, and the Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones-inspired environments, but it's very frustrating to play: I fell down most of the time because of the unresponsive commands, and sometimes she doesn't grip all platform edges (I played with an Xbox controller). That's a shame, this game has a lot of potential.

OBBY! Very challenging and beautiful atmosphere. Recommend if you are a masochist.

For some reason, there's a ghost at the end that looks straight out of Luigi's Mansion, but it isn't trying to kill you. It just wants to grab a few drinks at the bar.
