Monster City: A Monster College Story

The developer is complaining that this game isn't as successful as the previous. If he would read the reviews and change the game according to them, then maybe people would be more positive and the sales would increase. But hoping that everyone would be happy to buy and play an unfinished game (version 0.14) is not fair. Is not fair especially for us who were willing to buy a product for the promise that it will become a finished game. He should reimburse all the buyers and delete this game from Steam

Having played all of the content up to V13.6 in both sandbox and linear mode, I honestly think this game is not as bad as people make it out to be. Starting with the negatives as this is a positive recommendation, it is currently unfinished. While I didn't personally encounter numerous bugs or anything game breaking, there were a few glitches here and there. I also agree that SO FAR the individual character plots and overarching main plot aren't as compelling as in the first game. That said, I have faith that what we've seen so far is only the first act of each plot and there will hopefully be much more to come to properly flesh out each characters story. In terms of positives, there is plenty to do in sandbox mode and tons of unique slice of life cutscenes outside of the main story arcs. The characters all have their own appeal while still remaining unique enough from each other and the characters from the first game and from a world building point of view we get a little more insight into the culture and lives of new species. Unfortunately given the poor reception of the game so far in early access it looks like the dev has decided to cut a lot of content and wrap up developme…

I cant believe that in 2026 devs still are releasing AVNs without animation, what a joke. The funny thing is dev's other game previously released on here that takes place in same universe has animations. This game is definetly a thumbs down for me.

I’m not going to go through every positive and negative aspect of Monster City here, because one decision near the end overshadowed the rest of the game for me completely. I really wanted to recommend this game. I bought both Monster College and Monster City, spent dozens of hours with them, and despite having some issues with Monster City, I was still enjoying it enough to stay until the very end. Unfortunately, one of the final scenes completely destroyed my experience with both games. Heavy spoilers regarding Rachel below. Monster City asks you to import what happened with Peter’s (Monster College's MC) relationships in Monster College. Rachel can still be Peter’s partner, either monogamously or as part of his harem. And yet, near the end of Monster City, Rachel is forced into a sexual situation with Maya regardless of what the player wants. Adam (Monster City's MC) can join them or refuse and leave, but refusing does not stop anything: Rachel and Maya still have sex, and their sexual relationship can continue afterwards and even be shown again on later nights. If Peter ended Monster College in a faithful monogamous relationship with Rachel, this is straightforward cheating…

First of all, loved the first game as there should have been an epilogue or a nod to witch character the mc from previous game ended up with. Now, im really pissed off at the dev! I mean come on! Radio silent, the game goe in a loop where im at and theyre is no way in hell to get out of that loop! Tried to reset the game and start from scratch 5 time already but nothing happen and i end up exactly at the same loop^im at. Even on discord, people are asking the dev to fix the game but he as gone radio silent. Until the dev fix this mess, its gopnna be a thumb down! Oh and for thoses that know where to look for the game on certains sites, goe there instead of here. Dont waste your money....

Fair point that you have to redo things from the demo since things have been patched and updated. Now I have to remember my best choices from the demo and try again but hope all goes well!
