About Love Sucks: Night One

Love Sucks is an adult Visual Novel, in which monster-kind has secretly integrated with humanity. Two monster girls, a vampire and a succubus have chosen you to be their date this Halloween! But their motives go beyond just showing you a good time... With the involvement of magical artifacts, monster police, big boobs and a sweet rump, can you survive long enough to save not only yourself, but the monsters too?
Or maybe you'll just let it happen over, and over, because, screw it, the succ is good and there's worse ways to go!
This is Love Sucks: Night One, the first part of three in your mission to get laid and not die doing it.

✦ AI summary
Players praise Love Sucks for its impressive production quality, featuring gorgeous visuals, voice acting, and engaging writing that delivers an entertaining free prologue. The story effectively blends mystery, romance, and monster characters with enough depth and personality to hook players into wanting the full sequel, though some note the characters remain somewhat shallow at this early stage.

A free, 3-hour prologue that knows exactly how to show off: gorgeous art, voiced leads, and a intoxicating mix of monsters, love, and mystery that leaves you thirsty for the paid sequel. You wake up on the wrong end of a bloody ritual and have to flirt, charm, and scramble your way out of it. As a prologue, it does its job well — setting up the world and teasing everyone's motivations without ever laying all the cards on the table, then closing on a strong beat rather than a cheap cliffhanger. The protagonist is stubbornly benevolent and a bit of a pushover, but not in an irritating way. The monster love interests stay shallow this early, but there's enough here to make me want to see where their story goes. The writing and dialogue are good for the most part, and the spicier material is folded neatly into the story rather than forced on. However, I have a couple of nitpicks: I don't fully buy the "monsters are everywhere but nobody notices" premise, and characters sometimes move in and out of scenes without much justification. Player agency is the real shortfall — there's almost none of it. A wrong choice just nudges you back onto the right path, so this is a linea…
As the first game made by this programmer, it's very good. The story is fine, the art is great, and it has voice acting. All that for FREE?
Played on Steam Deck w/ no issues. As per the content flags & nature of the pornographic genre, Love Sucks leans heavily on getting the characters together in certain locations so that sexual action can take place but unlike most media in the genre, there’s a thin layer of appreciation for the characters, their dynamics & history beyond the vapid norm of ‘hollow vassels & sex at first contact’. The two main things for a visual novel are Art & Writing, In the case of Love Sucks: Night One, both are great and compliment each other perfectly with fun designs & dialogue, lively characters with entertaining dynamics, simple yet interesting monster world building & a tinge of fourth wall breaks when it comes to driving the plot forward. Speaking of plot, The franchise takes place during a halloween weekend, features monster girls, a miniscule mystery, groundhog day antics and an aptly named Macguffin necklace to progress the relationships & story of those involved. It does a great job playing within the framework of a visual novel whilst prodding the fourth wall to allow for your choices to play out before setting you back on track to continue the story without save scumming; i…
