About Morbid Catastrophe
For years, I have been having a nightmare where I see the world dying from my window. As I contemplate the catastrophe, I see myself. It is a strange sensation that I have never been able to explain in words. This is where Morbid Catastrophe was born - a game based on a recurring nightmare.
A experience of catastrophic horror.
Morbid Catastrophe is a first and third person game in which you play as a newly divorced man facing a catastrophe due to a failed experiment.
After settling into his new home, a man watches as the sky breaks and the world changes. An unprecedented catastrophic event is witnessed from his window. There is something strange in the atmosphere, something changing drastically and in a morbid way.
Day 100 after the catastrophe: Our protagonist does not feel hungry or thirsty. His thoughts are particularly focused on this. Even after so many days, this feeling is still strange - not having the ability to die of starvation. He does not sleep and is never tired. He is simply still alive without any means of entertainment nearby.
Day 185: The TV picks up the signal of an antenna - is there a survivor of the catastrophe? There are dangers outside the safe place. But what is left when all there is, is nothing?

Change, move on and escape from the creature to reverse the catastrophe.

Players praise the game's creative card system, dual gameplay styles switching between first-person and tank-control perspectives, and its effectively creepy atmosphere with decent puzzle design. The main complaint centers on the central enemy encounter, where players found the attack patterns and hitboxes unclear or confusing, though the game's short length and surreal, dreamlike quality keep it engaging overall.
I'm mixed on this one. It has a cool idea in the card system. I thought it was interestin' up till the first enemy encounter. Didn't know how to go about gettin' rid of that vessel. Still I'll thumb it up since I am intrigued by the laboratory sections. Gameplay here (when processed): https://youtu.be/NI-VrstkLII4 found this helpful
This is a great creepy little puzzle/horror game with some interesting mechanics, switching between two different styles of play in an interesting way. It is very short but pretty effective at what it's doing. My only complaint about the game would be that the central creature attacks while very scary, didn't effectively communicate how you were supposed to avoid it. I eventually figured it out but it would have been nice if it's hitboxes were a little clearer. Other than that, a very dreamlike experience and well worth having3 found this helpful
enjoyable puzzle mechanic and, also had me jump here and there. overall not bad3 found this helpful
Takes around an hour and I went back for the second route, super fresh experience, very iconic, absolutely loved it.3 found this helpful
Very weird, short and enjoyable retro-styled indie-horror game. The enemy is dumb and gets stuck in the couch, but I enjoyed it. Quite original.1 found this helpful
I really like VisceralError game from Dread X Collection, so I decided to buy his standalone game. It's a short and weird game with surreal atmosphere. It has a lot creative puzzles. But what I like the most is a gameplay splited between two gameplay styles. In first you have first person mode and you exploring your house, running away from monsters and changing special skills card that you can use in second type of gameplay (and other reality). In second dimension you have tank control (like in Resident Evil) and you playing as a weird static character. In my opinion game is worth to play and it cost almost nothing.1 found this helpful
