About Mortisomem

Mortisomem is an adventure, mystery, and horror game with retro visual aesthetics. The game takes place in the year 1917, in the vast forest of inland Brazil.

Donald Barnes is an immigrant and a successful American merchant in Brazil. However, one day he hears a traditional story from the region that greatly captures his attention; about a man who lived hundreds of years ago, brutally murdered by his wife's family, and who, after his death, became a cruel demon that kills the inhabitants of that area out of hatred and resentment. This demon was called Mortisomem.

However, on his way back home, Donald Barnes begins to be stalked by a powerful and horrifying creature that perfectly matches the physical descriptions of Mortisomem. The American merchant is forced to venture further into rural areas to escape this creature and find another way home.

Explore the forests of inland Brazil, meet people, uncover the region's history, and escape from Mortisomem alive.

✦ AI summary

Players praise this horror game's charm, atmosphere, and Brazilian setting references, with engaging dialogue and notes that enhance the story. However, common complaints center on excessive map size leading to tedious walking, the repetitive Mortisomem enemy encounters that become predictable, slow stamina regeneration, limited inventory slots, and an overly difficult final boss fight with insufficient ammo, making the overall pacing feel uneven despite the game's creative foundation.

Pretty decent horror game that I enjoyed playing and was well designed however I felt that the Mortisomem gets a bit annoying to deal with the more you play the game since he always does the same walk up behind you to slap you around a bit bit then again this a $3 game. The map is fairly big so expect a lot of walking around and more inventory space like another few slots would of been great since once you get the 3 keys it takes up a lot especially when carrying gun, ammo, and lantern. Random encounters occur every now and then but the only thing I encountered was either a man or woman running from the Mortisomem on the road or the Mortisomem walking up behind me. The game also has quite a bit of dialogue and notes to read which I liked. Overall, this was a good game especially if you are bored and looking for something to do but this game is pretty cheap so don't expect too much considering how the main antagonist of the game just sneaks up on you to slap you around to death https://youtu.be/SiQO8SH7EGo https://youtu.be/U8Ffm3ScJEE?si=Rv1mtlyJJcjvjD5X

it's alright. better than terminal 81 I guess. definitely felt like the map should have been smaller since it takes forever to get from place to place. the stamina regen rate also starts way too slow and barely speeds up as it fills up the bar. needs to be much faster. the final boss fight (optional I guess) had way too much health, could not kill him with the ammo that was there in the fight arena.

Nah,I really tried to like this game but I ended up hating it. Mediocre jump scares and boring walking simulator, and the ending boss fight is just annoying as hell. And this is sad because I really loved 'Terminal 81,' which is a game made by the same developer. But this felt like a big step backwards.

An interesting and fun survival horror game. Really cool how it inserts itself into the timeframe the story is set in. Always enjoy when fictional stories reference real life events. I really do think that the map is just too large, though. WAY too much running around, and the only enjoyment is the random events that pop up (and the mortisomen itself). Additional ambient enemies would really be nice. Something weak like an animal or bandit armed with a knife. Otherwise, the weapons you can get are sort of useless. Also, a shotgun would be nice :) The game has so much charm to it. It's really good. It's just poorly paced. 8/10.
