Description
Non-Linear Text Quests is a bundle of text games of various genres. Here you can find interactive stories with branching plots and text-only versions of classic Point & Click quests, where you can communicate with different characters, use your inventory and combine items in various locations.
The bundle consists of a few games by NLB project: "Return of Red Riding Hood, New Adventures", "Am I a Monster?", and "The Barbarian and the Subterranean Caves" (demo version).
This bundle also has games from other authors:
"Returning of the Quantum Cat", "The Watch" (by Peter Kosyh) and "Shturman" (by LuckyUk)

A brief description of some of the games in this bundle
"Return of Red Riding Hood, New Adventures" is a sequel to "Return of Red Riding Hood". This time Red Riding Hood and her mom will be baking pastries with ham, sorrel and cottage cheese, while finding themselves again in ridiculous and funny situations.
"Am I a Monster?"
You have become a werewolf! But that beastly appearance is not as dangerous as the beast growing inside you. Are you a monster or a human? That is the answer you need to discover.
"Returning of the Quantum Cat"
The most famous game on the INSTEAD engine. You play as a forester, whose cat was abducted. The search leads you to a strange institute. Help save Barsik!
"The Watch"
The starship "Pilgrim" is heading to Gliz 667c. Estimated flight time -- dozens of years. Every member of the crew is taking a 48 hour watch shift, while the others stay in cryosleep. This story tells about the events during one of such shifts.
"Shturman"
This is an educational game, which originally was written by Oleg Shamshura in the 1990's. Master the basics of programming by solving logic tasks based around cargo transportation by means of a spaceship.

This is a collection of laughably bad Russian CYOA e-books (not text adventures, as the somewhat misleading store page suggests, this is no Zork), with even worse mangled Russian translation. It's a train wreck. These short e-books work as a Choose Your Own Adventure, but the point stands. Nobody reads a CYOA book and says "What a great game I just played." Books aren't games. Visual novels are tedious at best. Imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or Twilight (kidding), but translate it to a format where you've to click your mouse for every single sentence instead of just turning pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience with much worse writing. If these guys could write professionally, they'd be in bookstores. They wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam. But here we are. There's no reason for this to be on Steam when it could just be a webpage... e-books are just a bunch of cringe text and comically bad static 3D renders. This free to play visual novel with adventure and roleplaying game (RPG) elements by NLB project features two short stories in Am I a Monster and Return of Red Riding Hood, New Adventures. In Am I a Monster, it features an unnamed male protagonist who has suddenly turned into a wolf and is hunted by fearful townspeople and police officers. The protagonist (the player) must decide what to kill and to eat as he gradually becomes more attuned as a wolf or retains his human form. In Return of Red Riding Hood, New Adventures, it continues with a parody of the classic children's fairy tale where the mother of the same unnamed girl in NLB project's earlier game Return of Red Riding Hood Enhanced Edition tries to tell a bedtime story of Little Red Riding Hood to her daughter to get her to sleep at night. As a young teenage girl Little Red Riding Hood, she lives with her mother and receives a task by her mother to gather ingredients to make a basket of sorrel, ham or cottage cheese pastries to deliver to her grandmother who is a forester and lives alone in a cottage inside a forest. Really nice idea for a visual novel engine plus the Win95-like graphics are just amazing
