Reminds Me Of My Misspent Youth On Zombs Royale

Notebook Battlegrounds is a really silly idea, but that is honestly what got me interested in it. I am playing as a little letter inside a hand drawn notebook, and instead of using normal weapons, I have to say the words shown on my screen into my microphone to attack. It turns my voice into the weapon, which makes even a basic fight feel completely different from most multiplayer games. I can play Deathmatch or Battle Royale, either on my own or in duos, and the whole thing is clearly built around getting a few people together and seeing what kind of chaos comes from shouting words at each other. The matches are short, the controls are easy to understand and I can usually figure out what I am supposed to do within a minute. The voice mechanic is easily the best part for me. I have to actually pay attention to the phrase I am given because saying the correct words lets me fire, while finding extra words around the map gives me access to special attacks. That makes moving around the arena more important because I am not just looking for enemies. I am also looking for useful words that can give me an advantage. Game of the Year 2026.

A fun little battle game, You move around and say the words on the screen which change every 30seconds or so. It's pretty good at detecting your words and pretty much built in to limit spamming since 1,you have to say a whole phrase and 2, if you try and rapid fire you'll start to slip up and it won't register you. you can find some powers up around the map which helps you adjust your strategy, only downside is not many players 7.4/10

There is an option for a code to be made but no where for the code to be put. Meaning there is no way we could find to connect and play with anyone let alone our friends. There is also no way to use the usual steam game invite tricks when in game connecting is hard. This is a shame as the music and vibes of the game were so cute. We would love to revisit it if the connections with friends is resolved. Edit: So the premise is fun but the game is still not working properly. The button to be able to get in lobbies with your friends has been fixed but once you're in the game multiple of my friends couldn't see the game as everyone else. They also couldn't move or shoot which made for a frustrating experience.
