About Oblivious Garden ~Carmina Burana

Story

Oblivious Garden ~Carmina Burana is a Romance fantasy visual novel. Our protagonist Irell Reis was once a famous general who led thousands of soldiers to expand the land of the Magic Empire on Latoy. However the defeat in Garyalburg, Vaustiya three years ago cost him everything. Fortunately he was not executed, but he was stripped of his rank and forced to live life as a lowly peasant from then on.

Finally, the time has come for Irell to recover his honor and reputation. His uncle the Emperor of Celantu has summoned him. What task will the Emperor give to him? Will Irell Reis be able to succeed in his new mission? He may first need to learn how to get along with the princesses?

Background

Long ago, people once called their land Latoy in awe.
Since ancient times, Latoy has referred to the vast paradise they called their home carried forward by one generation after another. By showing great admiration to various gods and to the motherland, people in Latoy lived in peace for thousands of years.
Now, however, humans have forgotten all of this.
After thousands of years, humans once living in Latoy are divided into the north and the south.
Celantu, the Magic Empire, occupies the southern part with abundant resources.
Vaustiya, the United Principality, occupies the cold northern part.
Though people on both sides were once brothers and sisters, they launched an endless and bloody war, killing anyone holding different flags with their swords and magical powers.

--This is an era when humans lose their admiration for gods and reverence to the land.
However, even in the turbulent time, there exists a care-free paradise like the one a thousand years ago.

--Oblivious Garden
This is a lavish palace built for the seven princesses. It is a “birdcage” glorified with the name “garden.”
And so, the story about love, hate, myth, and forgiveness begins...
Tried to like it, got a bad ending, lost interest in the genre
I started this game with the (possibly stupid) idea of trying to get through a decent chunk of gameplay without resorting to a detailed walkthrough. In hindsight, it has opened my eyes to how utterly broken games like these can be. Visual novels come in all shapes and sizes. You get some that are completely linear, others that have multiple endings, and still others that show roadmaps to help you figure out where the branching points are, and yet others that have an invisible friendship points system per love interest. This one, while it has multiple endings and is something I am familiar with, is not something I think I enjoy any longer. Maybe I am coming down hard on this particular game and I am offending some people... if so I'm sorry but so be it. I think games like these have gradually worn me down to the point where I can't deal with it any more - I would LIKE to be able to play and enjoy something like this, and figure out such things like 'correct choices' (often arbitrarily decided by developers with no basis for logic or real personalities) to get all the 'correct' endings by myself without the …

I initially saw the trailer and immidiately knew that I need this game! The story is a combination of love, politics, drama and magic and gets pretty wild occasionally. The writing felt somewhat inconsistent at times which gave me the impression that the amazing potential of the setting isn't fully used but perhaps that's because of the somewhat difficult(?) translation. Ironically the characters who interested me the most ended up only being side characters (Charlotte, Marian, Intelia, Ereface </3) but the main cast is great too! I also enjoyed the art, music, making biohazardous tea and Leira's death threats ^_^ Very fun overall.

I love the intro and the music, but it's just not for me.. It's not very engaging in my opinion and it's hard to get into. I wish it wasn't from the male perspective let alone there being "romance". It loses the plot pretty quickly. Had potiental.. It's just a bad story honestly. I wish the female characters had more depth instead of just being "dateable".. idk the MC's perspective just views them as "love interests" and its pretty annoying.

This game has one of the worst translations I've ever seen, like I think it legit made me schizophrenic. I've gotten multiple good endings and I had no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea what was happening the entire time (still don't). 10/10 experience, would recommend.

Mid can be worse than bad, and this is the case of this game. First of all, I might have missed them but I didn't see any epilepsy warning and I think there should be one. There are not enough soundtracks to illustrate accurately the various moments and emotions throughout the game. Thus, the music will sometimes feel very off. Same can be said for the backgrounds, they are very limited. For instance, no matter whom bedroom you're in, it will always display the same background. Sometimes, the game looks good, sometimes it looks really low-quality. They didn't even push it to the point of colouring the sky in orange for sunset purposes and trust me it's offputting to read that the sun is setting while you're staring at a bright blue sky. The Voice Acting is weird, not as in bad acting, but more like terrible recording. Some characters sound like they are far away from the mic or their voice is weirdly muffled. Lin, a major character and romantic interest is not even voiced 100% of the time. Regarding the story in itself, don't do like me, don't start with Dyanna's route, it is the most fleshed out and it's not representative of the other story's content. Most choices are not v…
