About On The Brink

Use Capri's gravity manipulation to slingshot across the universe as she embarks on a mission to liberate a forgotten dimension from the clutches of an all-powerful being. Solve puzzles, uncover mysteries, and shatter space-time itself in this snappy sci-fi action platformer.

What lies in the dimensions above our own?

  • An original sci-fi narrative set in the far reaches of the universe following Capri's fight to right cosmic wrongs and save PROJECT: Almagest.
  • High-speed movement is interwoven with unique puzzle mechanics sure to engage hypothalamuses and prefrontal cortexes alike.
  • Galaxy distribution across the universe is dynamic and infinite. Stay conscious, or be lost in the infinite aether.
  • On The Brink has subtitles available alongside controller support for both Windows and Mac OSX.
  • Recommended for third-dimensional beings. Playable in the second dimension, with decreased performance.

It's interesting, for sure. An arcade-like variation on the endless runner where your goal is to build speed rather than cross a certain distance combined with a simple puzzle game where you complete constellations with fewer than a certain number of moves(?) or maybe without recrossing lines(?). The instructions aren't very clear most of the time, though, and the voice-overs don't do a lot to help clarify things, but it's short enough to restart that it's not that big a deal to retry things a few times. The game has a lot of cutscenes that feel like they drag on a bit. It's fully voiced, and fairly well done in that regard (though some of the lines have a bit of the Nomura Kingdom Hearts chuunibyou flavor to them, whether intentionally or not). The story is clearly central to the game, but it's pretty cryptic, at least as far as I've gotten. Overall, at the reasonable cost of no dollars it's certainly worth a play; whatever else the game might be it's certainly unique. I've never seen anything like it, and if the team that made it gets a bit more experience designing play experiences under their belts I think they could create some genuinely special stuff. I'm going to keep an e…

I'm often not one for games with repetitive mechanics, however the game's story had me so entwined that I managed to keep going to find out more. The way that the entire story you build around in your head is likely broken by the time you reach the end is very good. Personal Recommendations: Before moving onto more content for the game, I would recommend going over the puzzles of the game again, because some of them are extremely difficult to the point where trial and error are the best idea. Additionally, make it a bit more lenient with the HP of Capri, having only 2 HP and a massive cut on your speed if you are hit is a bit too rough on the player, I would recommend only doing one or the other. Despite this, I love how the story is forming, and I really hope for the new content to come out before we know it, and I'm excited as I should be! Good luck to the team.

Long slow text at the start you can't skip through about Ptolemy and stuff? A lot to sit through for a simple arcade-y game. Nice visual style but not a lot to the game, much slower than it should be. The speed you orbit seems it should launch you faster. Some cool ideas, but not enough meat to chew on.

Though I agree with the comments that the game isn't flawless, it sure is a great experience and I will recommend it to my friends as well!! I was actually surprised with the voice acting, it's really good and caught me off guard. My only problem is the lack of tutorials and the loading screens taking forever to load, but such things can be dismissed if we look at the game as a whole. Very underrated game in my opinion, my kindest regards to the developers and voice actors :)

Very fun, unique idea. There are definitely some small bugs and it could use some optimizing but the story is very interesting and the game play is unique enough to keep you engaged. Highly recommend!
