Orpheus's Dream

"Orpheus's Dream" is a charming looking stylised 3D rendered puzzle game from China where you click around your house to solve various puzzles, recover your memory, and there's a cat, too, which of course draws in a lot of gamers. But what this really has in abundance is bugs... there's a good chance you won't be able to finish this because of all the glitches, and that's a shame. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for a $4 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to buy soundtrack DLC from Steam to "support" the "developer"... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. Discovered this in my library and decided to actually try it. I went for a thumbs up as it's quite a relaxing little puzzle game, but there are some bugs. But it's free, so...

Wish could give this a mixed review. For a free game, it’s actually pretty good. But the bugs really drove me crazy…

i remember playing the game but not what happened, 10/10

I didn't find any game-breaking bugs, unlike what other people stated, but I might have been just lucky not to encounter any. On the up side I really liked the music and the art style. Overall it's a nice and short indie experience.
