Meh. That's exactly what comes in mind about this game. Some people compare it with Darkest Dungeon, but beside a vague close graphical style, Path & Danger does not have the depth and atmosphere of Darkest Dungeon. By far! Now that this is out of the way, Path & Danger is not a bad game, but it has some issues that makes is frustrating to play. When I say that, I think about this idiotic path finding. Let me explain. In some areas, there are pits that will damage your team if step onto. Fair enough. The first problem is that the UI kind of lags, which means that you think you selected a unit when you did not, and then you issue a move order to the wrong one... making it fall into the pit. OK, you can say this is the player's fault, why not, but hear me now. They implemented a save / load formation. When the combat is finished, you want to put your team in formation by loading your previously saved formation and guess what? some of the members will fall into the pit, like morons. This, and the unnecessary grinding which is far from fun or rewarding, and you have a game that leaves you a mediocre taste in the mouth. I did not dislike the few hours spent playing it, I will p…

Paths & Danger is a tactical, turn-based strategy game developed and published by GoldenGod Games, and it attempts to merge the challenge of roguelike design with the structure of a grid-based RPG. At its core, the game is about survival, planning, and resource management, all within the confines of a dark medieval fantasy world. You control a party of adventurers, each with unique abilities and roles, and are tasked with completing missions across procedurally generated maps filled with enemy encounters, traps, and opportunities for loot. These missions, called "jobs," are often linear in objective but randomized in structure, which gives the game an air of unpredictability that suits its grim atmosphere. The game’s setting—the Province of Westwall—is suitably bleak, evoking a world plagued by bandits, undead, and other supernatural threats. The visual style is clean but modest, with sprite-based characters and tiled battlefields that evoke the aesthetics of early 2000s indie tactics games. It doesn’t try to overwhelm with effects or modern flourishes, but it succeeds in establishing a consistent tone. The UI is readable and functional, though some menu layouts and inventory syst…
