About The Inn Between: Prologue

Discover a dark new fantasy world in The Inn Between, a turn-based, tactical RPG with strong elements of exploration and many opportunities to forge your own path.
The Prologue Chapter is a roughly 8 hour experience crafted to be the launching point of The Inn Between series. The Prologue Chapter is a standalone experience and progress will not carry over to future chapters in the series, however it will give you an idea as to what future chapters can be. Which is why we have decided to release this chapter for free. We want to start to build a community around this game so feel free to join the game’s discord to provide us with useful feedback(Linked in the sidebar). The Prologue Chapter is a great introduction into the world and lore we are building and you will be able to become acquainted with some characters who will be present in The Between . We look forward to working with the community as we move forward with development of Chapter One.
At its core, "The Inn Between" is a uniquely styled role-playing game with turn-based combat and rich storytelling. Build each party member however you like, solve puzzles, craft items, and slash your way through a variety of enemies. There are lots of secrets to find in The Between so be sure to check every nook and cranny. The world is filled with new things to discover and often times branching off the main path will have you finding new items, characters, quests and more!
Enjoy a large selection of tactics style combat encounters that are sprinkled throughout the game world. Every turn matters as you attack, reposition and heal your squad, leveraging your own build style against a variety of encounters. Swords, shields, guns, wands and more are at your disposal, as well as a fair selection of abilities for each type of weapon. Use these tools and more to manage each conflict by dealing damage directly or by trapping the battlefield with hazardous terrain.
Follow the story of Cryptor, who has woken up in a world somewhere between life and death. Meet new party members and slowly unravel the secrets of The Between, a world where lost souls arrive without much guidance, left to discover their own true selves.

That was so boring. It opened with a fourth-wall break to give excuses for the games faults (possibly the worst first-impression possible), and continues with way excessive tutorialising, explaining, and walking.5 found this helpful
Review at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS8I0sgTjJY This is a fun game that I enjoy playing. The puzzles are similar to other puzzle game if you play this genre a lot. I like the unique artwork for this game and took me a few tries to fully understand the game. I quite like the sense of humor in the game. I look forward to the games release ( If they make one) because I know I will be playing lots of it.4 found this helpful

Absolutely loving the game so far! Both the graphic style and the silly/smartass/wall breaking dialogue make this such an enjoyable game. I also like that you can adjust the difficulty to fit your playstyle. I personally haven't run in to many issues or bugs, but the devs are very active and friendly on discord if you run in to any issues or questions. I definitely recommend giving it a shot. Can't wait to see what comes after the prologue!2 found this helpful
It's a good game, nice art style, complex puzzles, clever dialog. However, there are a few things that make it less fun: First, there are a lot of fourth wall breaks, I'm not saying its a bad thing, it just feels like an overused joke for how often it comes up. Second, this is probably just me but I had gotten so confused on the color and plate puzzle, once you get to the wall with 8, you have to combine the colors, ex: green+green=green, Red+blue=Purple etc. but I'm also pretty dumb so I understand messing with it for 20 mins. Third, This is the last thing, buuuuut its kinda a game breaker, when in battles, you can tap the move key very slightly (aka pressing w over and over rapidly: w w w w w w w w w) and move without using any of your AP, this lets you hit something and just run far enough to not be hit and then come back next turn to do the same. All in all the game is good, I'd play again.1 found this helpful
