In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the *new*. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto, "Anyone can cook." But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist *can* come from *anywhere*. I like its simplicity. Very calming. <3 Big W

One of my most cherished games. I found the story arch to be enthralling, and the suspense sequences to be enlightening. I found the Pedro character to be absolutely captivating, and cannot imagine a life that hasn't been enriched by such a compelling Eggventure. I am in great debt to the creators of this game for opening mine eyes to the glory of egg shots, and real world graphic novel simulations.

Note: While this game has achievements, not all of them can be obtained due to hamfisted bungling from the developers. If you attempt to play this game as an achievement hunter, it's unlikely you will attain 100% completion. "Pedros Eggventure" is some kind of weird, badly made student project made for the Rookies awards (an participation trophy event designed to give amateur/student developers who can't get jobs little trophies for participating in making games nobody wants). Taking on the role of Pedro Pascal (wait for the C&D letter from the lawyers I guess) you do some platforming and 3D stuff, only badly and with some really badly done flipped looking assets in some places. The Rookies almost certainly gave them a participation trophy for this effort. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible.
