this game is incredibly broken and easy and way too expensive for what you get (and even zoyt could beat it)3 found this helpful
While I avoid doing reviews of games I haven't beaten yet (edit: I beat it, check the edit below), I feel like I want to do for this one. The game has been... kinda of a slog to play, and it's being a bit painful. I'll explain as to why I'm already writing this review, but I'll try to update it once (if, that is) I beat it. The game is... very glitchy. It's rather sad that even after leaving Early Access, the game is still at this state. In the first 1 hour of the game, I already managed to get stuck three times, having to go back to my last save point, clip on the ground, and all sorts of shenanigans. I even found an exploit that if you use a dash ability and jump before it ends, you can do three jumps, instead of just two. I will be honest, these glitches can make the experience more interesting, even if it wasn't intentional by the Devs. The clipping, the exploiting, and stuff. Outside the glitches, the game feels polish too. Sound effects are too loud and has a poor audio balance. Certain enemies has explosives that all destroy at once, causing a loud sound. Collecting coins from chests at the same time causes a really loud "pick up" sound effect. It's not very nice when you…2 found this helpful
Fun at its base, but very glitchy and made with questionable design decisions. Not sure why they thought not explaining what any pickups actually do, but, well, that was certainly a choice they made. Honestly wouldn't recommend unless you have a craving for some low-class doujinsoft jank.2 found this helpful

I'm sorry, but how the hell can this be considered a full release? I am one of the people who got this game during the early access phase. At the time, the game looked really good; especially the overall design of the world and characters which were very cute and likable. Unfortunately, I never got to play the game until now, and to say I am beyond bewildered is an understatement. Piko Piko is absolutely not in a shape that can be considered a full fledged game. The story just keeps jumping forward without any meaningful transition or world building, keeping you questioning if you actually saw the events the characters are talking about. And the way characters talk to each other is also very inconsistent, as sometimes you see visual novel styled scenes with character portraits appearing on the screen, and sometimes you see speech bubbles that look like rough placeholders. The tutorial only covers the basic stuff and never gives you guidance on anything else. Like, what's the significance of the level up system? Or what the items you find in the wild actually do? I mean, I can see that I have unlocked an achievement called "Swoosh" after collecting an item, but what does it even me…
