About Rabi-Ribi

✦ AI summary

Explore a mysterious world as Erina, a rabbit-turned-human girl, alongside Ribbon the fairy in this non-linear 2D action platformer where you control close-quarters combat while Ribbon handles ranged support. Master over 60 upgrades and skills across multiple areas, face 40+ boss battles with thousands of attack patterns, and tackle everything from story mode to post-game content with adjustable difficulty for any skill level.

There never quite seem to be enough bunny girls in the world, so here is another for you aficionados out there. This 2D sidescrolling exploration platformer follows the adventure of Erina, whose humdrum life as a regular rabbit is turned upside-down when she finds herself in an unknown world and turned into a human (with rabbit ears)!
Along the way she meets the cheerful pink-haired fairy, Ribbon, who mysteriously chooses to stay by Erina’s side.
These unwitting heroes embark together on their quest to restore Erina’s life to normalcy, but who knows what troubles lurk, waiting for them…

Rabi-Ribi is a 2D exploration platformer that focuses on non-linear gameplay. There will be hints to guide the player along, but they’re never required to follow them, which allows for much greater freedom to—you guessed it—explore.

Players will play as our protagonist Erina, who focuses on close quarters combat. Ribbon the fairy is the ranged attacker who follows Erina’s lead, indirectly controlled by the player.

Erina may be a little rabbit that was turned into a human, but that doesn’t stop her from being capable of some pretty neat moves.

Both Erina and Ribbon’s abilities can be improved by learning new skills and attacks through collecting items and upgrades that are spread throughout the world.
What trinkets and skills to pick up is up to the player; dare you challenge hard mode without any items?

is there a competent metroidvania underneath if you can get past the cringe dialogue and fanservice? yeah. is it an overwhelmingly positive metroidvania? nah. it's solid enough and the game goes on sale all the time. map is garbage.

Bought this game in 2021, one of, if not my favorite game of all time, every year I wanted to share my feelings about this game after I 100% it, and this day has finally come. Rabi-Ribi is a fusion between a metroidvania and a bullet hell game. Maybe at first you would think that it's two genres that don't go well together, well this game is here to tell you otherwise. Do you want to try a bullet hell game even though you're not good at it ? This game offers you 6 difficulties to choose from (+2 with DLC) and can be enjoyed by every type of player ! Do you want to not be stuck by an invisible wall or a pop up message that tells you what to do without being able to explore ? This game is the definition of that. Break the game ? You can. Break the order of the bosses to fight ? You can. Go places you weren't supposed to go this early ? You can. Do you want to do a 0% run and win without taking any items ? You can. Can you skip literal chapters of the game with some hidden tech that you will learn if you explore enough ? No of course it would be too mu- YES YOU CAN. The metroidvania part is really good, you will go back and forth to the destination you have already explored for mor…

I fkn love this game. Literally the most fun metroidvania I've ever played.

Not a bad game but not designed with the average player in mind so buy with your own skill level in mind. The first half of the game was a blast but the latter half quickly ramped up in difficulty faster than I could improve meaning I had to fight the same bosses over and over. Bosses which had become long endurance challenges and leave little room for error. They often require mastering techniques that I really don't think the average player will have picked up make many of the attacks seem like mandatory damage. I pushed through because I did like the games charm and chocked it up to a skill issue but the last boss is nearly impossible even after lowering the difficulty to novice. The room for error is so small, and the fight so long that I'm amazed I finished the game. After suffering through for hours I found the game was spoiled for me. The frustration had outweighed the feeling of accomplishment. 80% of players have not even cleared the game and I don't blame them. I really fell ill prepared for such a long and arduous fight tainting the fun I had for the first half of the game. My takeaway is that this game seems like it might be someone's favorite game assuming they ar…
