There are many strange creatures that lurk, ready to attack you on your journey...if you can make it.
You are a military scientist whose body is mutating after being infected by microorganisms that somehow escaped an enemy bio-warfare lab. Now, your life depends on defeating these pathogens by piloting a nanotechnology battleship called the Shotbot.
You have just gone deep underground into a classified research lab. Here, you enter a zero-gravity isolation chamber to visualize defeating disease through an interactive neuro-link to the Shotbot. During your battle, it is crucial to maintain your energy supply and restock weaponry by killing pathogens and collecting nutrients. Be vigilant, even in your darkest battle, because some of the enemies you defeat will leave behind powerful weapons.

"Placebo Effect" is a particularly badly made, and completely failed attempt to make yet another third person shooter set inside someone's body. Look, there's a reason nobody talks about Fantastic Voyage anymore and there's a reason that didn't start an entire genre of movies about shrinking people to wander around the human body... it's just not a good idea. And coupling that with shoddy gameplay and laughably bad game assets is not going to make the bad idea work better. What do you do in the game? Fly around, shoot invading bacteria or whatever... it's hard to tell because the graphics are so bad. The graphics aren't great... that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging an eye watering, completely delusional $15 USD for this. Neat idea, rubbish implementation. Movement feels immensly wrong and thats the biggest issue for me. Ontop of that Achievements only partially work. Not worth your time. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
Too hard for me. Not a traditional 6DOF game, better regard this as a submarine simulator I feel a bit weird about my body after playing
