Ramona

Ramona was recommended to me by several people not long after it released. It looked interesting enough, so I figured… why not? I’ll give it a try. What I was not expecting… was for it to land in my top 5 favorite horror games of all time—right up there with MADiSON and Visage. But here we are. And that’s saying a lot. I stream horror games for a living. I’ve played a lot of them. When I go into a game, I’m looking at everything—story, atmosphere, sound design, voice acting, jumpscares… all of it. Whether we realize it or not, those things shape the experience. Ramona absolutely delivers across the board. The story pulls you in and keeps you there. It’s engaging without feeling forced, and it unfolds in a way that makes you want to keep digging deeper. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a game like this—unsettling, immersive, and consistent the whole way through. The puzzles hit that sweet spot too. Not overly frustrating, but just enough to make you stop and think for a minute before things click into place. And the jumpscares? Yeah… they’re on point. I finally got around to playing the full version of Ramona. I had played the prologue many months ago and really enjoyed it. It was my gateway into the world of Doesn't Matter Games Studio. I pretty much bought their whole library after that and have loved every one of their stories. There are only a few I haven't played yet. Ramona is creepy, tells an uncomfortable story at times, and ends in a way that I genuinely didn't anticipate. I really appreciated that. Some of the jump scares were predictable, while a few of them got me multiple times even though I knew they were coming. There are collectibles, puzzles, and plenty of poop humour to be found if you look hard enough. I probably played it longer than most because I'm all about finding every collectible and running back and forth trying to figure out a puzzle or three. Overall, I really enjoyed my time with it. Is Ramona as polished as some of the other games in their library? Nope. Did that affect my enjoyment? Sure didn't. I'd give it a solid 6.5/7 out of 10. I Absolutely LOVED this game! This game is a true masterpiece! The puzzles, atmosphere, story, jump scares, items, gameplay are all very solid. And it's really fun to play! There's even a twist you'll never see coming, just like a good book or movie. Because Daniele went back to basics, which is what made his early games great, but updated them with more varied puzzles, better tech, updated features, auto-saves and no crashes, it's a real gem! It's a big house and a pretty long game, but I wish it were even longer - which is ultimately a compliment. 10/10! Can't wait for the next one!!

The puzzles were fun. Well worth the money.
