About Reloader: test_subject
Reloader: test_subject is an experimental "Bullet Counting Reload Action" game that features realistic gun control combined with movie-style cinematics. We were inspired by numerous classic shootouts from movies and the indie game called Receiver.
Experience being a Reloader: having legendary shooting skills and engaging in Close-Quarters Combat(CQC). You just have to remember how to use the gun you’re holding.
You woke up in an unfamiliar building. Your hands are tied, and a gang member is pointing a gun at your neck. Luckily, a woman passing by, who is a self-proclaimed spy, saves your life. But it seems like she has plans to use you as a test subject for a new, unstable technology.
The suspicious tool that is given to you grants you godlike aiming skills and the abilities of a legendary agent. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen bugs and errors, you have the ability to aim a gun, but you know nothing about how it works or even how to reload it.
But, you can figure it out step by step. Hold a magazine, load and lock the magazine into your pistol, and pull the slide back to chamber a round. Now, you are ready to fight.
All you have is a pistol and a few magazines. Now, get ready to escape a building filled with armed gang members - all by yourself!

The crouch needs multiple clicks just to crouch. There's too many enemies. I am not kidding. I've played Payday 2 and that game is swimming in cops, but you know what was revolutionary about it...? Oh right, you automatically picked up ammo without delay or pause and with probably enough plot armor/armor to avoid damage. This game has none of those survival mechanics, and requires time to pick up ammo from the ground. While you have to shoot through the population of China and India combined. With a pistol. 0/101 found this helpful

2D Receiver. If you've actually played that other game, "Receiver", then you'll notice that the similarities are very apparent with the complicated gun controls; even the way you mash the key to sprint is the exact same. It's not a bad thing in and of itself, but there are a lot of other things in this small game that brings itself down. You can't remap the keys like you could in Receiver, so you have to get used to this game's particular controls. You can't aim manually, everything is subject to an auto-targeting system, which is really bad in a game that likes to show itself off as being tactical. For example, you kill a guy and you want to immediately aim at the other guy behind him after, but you have to wait a little because the targeting is still locked to the dead guy who already hit the ground. The close-quarters combat the game likes to advertise is terrible and actually very ill-advised due to the enemies spawning endlessly. Looting dead bodies for ammo is a nightmare when they're all on top of each other in this 2D game with a very limited inventory. Being a one-dollar game, it only takes maybe an hour or two to finish, and by the end of the game you're told it…1 found this helpful
Reloader: test_subject, developed by Nevertheless Studio and published by PsychoFlux Entertainment, is a tightly focused indie action title that builds its entire identity around one deceptively simple idea: reloading a gun should matter. Rather than treating firearms as abstract tools with an instant reload animation and a conveniently refilled magazine, the game transforms the act of reloading into a core mechanic that demands attention, precision, and composure under pressure. The result is a side-scrolling shooter that feels less like a traditional run-and-gun experience and more like a deliberate, mechanical exercise in firearm handling and tactical survival. The premise establishes a grim, almost clinical tone. You awaken restrained, a weapon pressed against you, only to be thrown into a chaotic situation where you become a “test subject” for an experimental system that enhances your aiming capabilities. Paradoxically, you must relearn the physical act of handling and reloading your weapon from scratch. This narrative framing cleverly justifies the game’s meticulous reload system while immersing the player in a tense environment populated by hostile enemies. The story is not…
The game is short tho like 40 minutes? I thought it has potential but dev still didn't make anything in Reloader series exept this prologue. Game is pretty much fun but endless "surrounded" state ruins everything, you just rush level with no ammo managment bc faster = better or be surrounded again.
I didn't play this one either, so take my words with a grain of salt, but this game didn't really look... fun at all. It looked weird and clunky, and was also very short.
