Retro War is a 2D shooting videogame.

Retro War is a 2D retro pixel arcade shoot 'em up that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's an extremely generic, low effort sci-fi shoot 'em up that seems to have been copied from a GameMaker Studio template/project. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. There's nothing distinctive or interesting about this low quality template/asset flip. While you can change the resolution, the developer couldn't even work out how to make GameMaker Studio template flips work in full screen, so there's no working full screen mode. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's simple, but it works well for what it is, and most importantly.. it's "fun" to play! Even better yet, it's completely FREE! There is nothing wrong with retro indie games that deliver some level of entertainment at either a good value for your dollar or for free with no micro-transactions or advertisements that pop up all over your screen. And this game delivers the goods with absolutely no fuss. There's tons of bullets and enemies to dodge and blast away as you advance through the levels which increasingly get more and more challenging. I like it. Несмотря на свою простоту, игра предлагает довольно глубокую механику, требующую тактического мышления и умения быстро реагировать на меняющуюся ситуацию. Это не просто бездумная стрельба, здесь нужно думать, как лучше использовать имеющееся оружие и выбирать оптимальную позицию на поле боя. Единственным небольшим минусом можно считать излишнюю сложность в некоторых моментах, но это скорее мотивирует к улучшению, чем отталкивает от игры. В целом, "Retro War" - это качественный и увлекательный шутер, который понравится как поклонникам ретро-игр, так и тем, кто просто ищет динамичную и интересную игру на несколько вечеров.
