Retro Space Shooter is a refreshingly modern 3D physics-based implementation of a top-down retro arcade space shooter. Expertly pilot your drone ship through an onslaught of enemy fire and fight seemingly endless waves of enemy ships and bosses. Adapt your tactics as the battles become tougher, and upgrade your ships engines, weapons, and shields to power through tough foes.
The game is simple to play yet fiendishly difficult at higher levels as you dodge hundreds of plasma bolts, missiles, and other enemy weapons, all while trying to keep your shots focused on ships long enough to kill them. Collect debris fields to earn credits and power ups to enhance your ship along the way. Spend your credits to permanently upgrade your existing systems, or buy new weapons and defenses to install on your ship.
Use the back button to head back to your star base (main menu) to refit your ship without losing progress, but avoid death at all costs if you want to keep those power ups you collected along the way. For the power-hungry among you, keep upgrading those plasma weapons and you will soon find yourself shooting coherent plasma beams capable of converting your enemies to a pile of debris in mere moments. But beware the enemy firing a coherent plasma beam at you!

"Retro Space Shooter" looks more like an attempt to make a mobile app than a serious PC game, but falls flat incredibly hard. What's the game about? Retro Space Shooter presents itself as a 3D physics-based take on the classic top-down arcade space shooter genre, and whatever the developer was talking about there, they were wrong. It's a mildly 3D rendered 2D top down shmup with bog standard gameplay, that's all there is to it. The developers abandoned this 6 years and 2 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The graphics aren't great, heck the thing is locked to 9:16 aspect ratio. Did they even think at any point they were making this for PC? Do they have a PC, but set it up wrong and put their monitor on its side and nobody had the heart to tell them? That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve b…1 found this helpful
its ok, good looks, not a fan of the mouse only input. upgrading your ship is nice. how ever the ship add-ons are priced high. do not know if the game gives you more money the longer you stay alive.1 found this helpful

Игра 'Retro Space Shooter' – это ностальгический взрыв из прошлого! Простая, как три копейки, но невероятно затягивающая. Пиксельная графика и чиптюн музыка создают неповторимую атмосферу аркадных автоматов 80-х. Управление интуитивно понятное, а геймплей – чистый адреналин. Постоянный поток врагов, разнообразные бонусы и боссы не дают заскучать ни на секунду. Игра идеально подходит для коротких игровых сессий, когда хочется быстро и весело убить время. Сложность растет постепенно, поэтому даже новички смогут освоиться, а ветераны жанра найдут достойный вызов. Единственный минус – однообразность фонов со временем может слегка утомить, но динамичный геймплей это быстро компенсирует. В целом, это отличная игра для всех любителей ретро-шутеров, которая дарит массу положительных эмоций и возвращает в золотую эпоху видеоигр. Рекомендую!
