About Return Of The Zombie King

Step 1

When you start the game you have been deposed from your kingdom, left for dead in a swamp, and your riches spread across the land.
You are dead and you have no body parts. No eyes. No ears. Not even legs.

Step 2

You have a very limited amount of life force. You can only go so far and jump so high.

Before you die collect as much gold as possible.

Step 3

Use the gold that you collected and buy your body parts back.

When you buy eyes you get color vision. When you get your ears you can hear. If you want to run further you buy a longer health meter.

SIDE NOTE: There are no microtransactions or IAP!

Step 4

As you upgrade your corpse you can get further and further.

Step 5

Buy advanced upgrades such as wall-jump, shields, and spike resistant boots.

Step 6

Explore! The world of Return of the Zombie King is huge with over 4 environments, and 100 levels.

I should had review this game sooner to be honest.. The developer has put too much effort into it and deserves recognition. The opening is interesting.. At first it seems very simplistic and empty but this is an illusion.. You'll soon come to realize the game has A LOT of stuff to do. It will keep you entertained for hours and chances are you might even restart the game just to power up again. No experience is the same as they are indeed random generated but NOT in "boxes"; that means that it's not like it has a preset of many areas and puzzles together 3-4-5 of those for a run. It's more detailed and complicated. The controlling is smooth and responsive. If you fail, it's on you :P Given time you'll become better and stronger. Maybe even the dev might come to say hi ;) The achievements aren't very easy or very difficult but, in my opinion, they help in giving you more reasons to try something new in the game. I like this approach and it isn't annoying. I already had many hours of fun with it and I will have a lot more as the game won't let you leave so easily.. You'll want to revisit. So yes, I recommend this game "with my eyes closed" - pun intended ;) For more reviews, fol…

This is a one button game and appears to be a steam port of a mobile game. Even though it costs money to play on steam, there are some levels locked behind signing up to the developers mail list and what not, which seems pretty scummy. The game itself if pretty grindy at times for no real reason, has almost no story (there seems to be some story missing) and the levels are re-used frequently. All in all, it's pretty low effort. You can sink some time into this because it's not a bad game, but I don't really think it's worth spending time on

Fun side-scrolling, 2d, runner with a unique catch: you start the game as merely a skeleton head and need to buy back your body parts (and upgrades) as the game progresses. I think that I might have finished the game without completing all upgrades if I hadn't done a bit of gold grinding before continuing on. Personally, I found World 7 Level 6 to be best for gold and bought upgrades that gave me more gold once I started grinding. It's a simple game but enjoyable, competently made and the pixel art is great! It's a good game for when you want something simple to play and/or shorter play sessions. Recommended!

Worse than a crap game is a promising game which turns out to be crap The game is a runner with "rpg" elements in that you collect coins you use to better your character The only thing you can actively do in every level is chose when to jump. You have a "stamina bar" which decreases by hits and jumps, meaning your success will be decided by your knowlege of the level and the economization of your jumps. Oh, btw, this knowlege of the game may not be so usefull as you may think, because contrary to what you coul expect, some movil enemies keep moving even if you havent started to run yet, which means, they will be in a different place depending on when you decided to start running, so what you end up with is a runner game changed into a puzzle by giving you a stamina limit, but some pieces of the puzzle are not consistent so it ends up becoming a trial and error game which can easily become a memory game as annoying as requiring to counting the seconds before you start running The story so far is al most nonexistant, you are given a begining and a motivation and an hour of gamplay later you havent heard anything about it. Theres a clever aspect to this game. You start as a very i…
