About ZombieRun
ZombieRun is a retro platformer with the aim to bring sexy back to local multiplayer gaming. It's you, your friends and guns against all the living dead roaming around. If that's not enough there are also apples, carrots and superpowers in play.
After a massive apocalyptic thunderstorm you find yourself in the middle of a forest graveyard with two zombies drooling over you. It seems that the thunder wasn’t the only thing that hit the world while you were out. It’s time to act fast, stay alive and get to the city for some answers. This is where it all begins it's you your fast reflexes and guns agains all the dead running around.
The game features classical weapons, gang of living dead and superpowers. Yes, you have SUPERPOWERS. So get your cape on and start saving the world. ZombieRun has addictive single player mode and awesome local multiplayer games. Up to 4 players can play at the same time in either single screen co-op mode, where you have to work together as one or split screen competitive mode, where everyone's racing to the finish. And also there's the Battle mode where players can blast at each other with what they've got.
ZombieRun has controller support so dust of the old joypads and get cracking.
So we’ve got intense solo mode where there’s only you against the world. Then we have co-op mode where up to 4 players can tackle the enemies as one team. And no we don’t leave anyone behind. Then there’s also the competitive mode that allows also up to 4 players to compete in split screen. Competitive mode is like a race to the finish. The one who’s first wins. Is it all already. No it’s not. I left my favorite to last. It’s the battle mode. This is straight up shoot everything that moves game mode. You go head to head with other players and only one can come out of the game as the winner. There are no limits in battle mode, everything is allowed, we actually encourage some elbow action when it seems that you might be losing.

Should be called zombiewalk. Zombierun is a super simple retro platformer that features local multiplayer as a big selling point. The platform physics are acceptable but a little slow and the game worked fine(maybe I think) with my xbox controllers despite many people apparently having difficulties with the controls. I played a bit of the multiplayer with my usual hotseat guinea pig but we both found the game to be somewhat boring. Neither of us realised that you can use the fruit for a power up so we may have one more go at it but there definitely isn't a lot here to keep you coming back.
Good
-does what it says on the can -local multiplayer action -dev team seem to be active so maybe we will see some improvements down the line
Bad
-it's dull. The sprites used are unexciting, the enemies are slow and easy to avoid and the level design, while not bad often feels predictable and by the numbers -when playing co-op mode if one player dies then the other players also restart the stage, this isn't great when one player is much less skilled than the others. So is zombierun bringing sexy back to local multi like they say they are? Not in my opinion. Compare…4 found this helpful

You'll need to download the appropriate Java stuff to make this work, if you don't already have it. A shame it doesn't come with the game.
if it was cheaper, had an editor and workshop support and achievements and trading cards, I might argue the plethora of modes and allowing for up to 4 people play together would warrant something but that would take ignoring every free game available just on steam not even counting the entirety of the internet. if you are paying 2 dollars for a game on steam you could probably blindly choose a title and still come off better. the main pains for me in this are the annoying basic character and level tile art. the sound effects are garish and repetitive and the combat \ character physics are entirely uninteresting. I feel like an idiot for even writing about this game but I guess its close enough to interesting to warrant it, just don't pay more than a dollar for it and don't expect much return unless you are dead set on doing competitive races across bad levels with a friend as this appears to be the most interesting quality of the game. points to having some amount of pride in the game to the point you can go look up promo youtube footage for it including its exhibition at some game expo convention thing. the guy puts his name in the main menu and is active on linkedin and github. i…
Terrible game, should be a free flash game (feels like one). The controls feel so sluggish that you will die and just get frustrated. 2/10
I would honestly say that this would be more suited to Miniclip rather than Steam. It is a solid flash game however lacks for features. It is a very solid platformer though. - FLASH GAME REVIEW - + Solid Gameplay + Nice variety of weapons - Layout of levels is very vanilla 6/10 for a miniclip game, 2/10 for a Steam game. - STEAM GAME REVIEW - + Not many glitches. - Controls are unresponsive - Movement feels clunky - Lack of content
