Reviver

This was a really sweet, fairly quick puzzle game. It will make you teary.

[h2]A good P&C puzzle game that breaks the mold. But it has a serious flaw...[/h2] [b]Puzzle difficulty:[/b] ★★★☆☆ [u]Playtime:[/u] 9-11 hrs This one is really different from other P&C games. You can freely alternate between two lovers PoV and move through timelines to fix the past and change the future. Pretty fun and unique idea, and it is beautifully drawn. The puzzles are mostly good and logical, save 2-3 exceptions. (using a LAMPs light and glasses to focus the weak light to burn a thread? come on...). The story is absolutely beautiful and touching, however... it is horribly translated to English. It took away much of my enjoyment from the story. It is like A2-B1 level translation with lots of grammatical errors. What I expected from a visually beautiful game like this is flowery, poetic language and writing, but what I got was soulless lines like this: "My friend died today. I was sad. Anyways I need to move on." uhh... I can recommend it, but only reluctantly. If the aforementioned things are not a big issue for you.

A typical Cotton Game style puzzle. :) Time manipulation is fun.

The story is insanely good, it's totally my style. It's very cute and cozy but there are morbid elements to it, hence the name "Reviver" which I love. I love anything related to time travel and changing lives. There are so many times where you have to save the 2 main characters, or the people around them. There's also a murder, and fantasy elements like witchcraft and the butterflies in general. The art style is adorable. Some of the puzzles were easy, others you had to think more, and then there were some that just outright didn't make any sense. I feel like there should be some sort of easy mode because I think the puzzles are going to push people away from the story, which I think is a shame because it's one of the most interesting concepts I know. There is a butterfly that's supposed to guide you, but that barely helped. Sometimes you had to trigger certain events to move on at all, which was confusing because the butterfly wouldn't help. It only helps when new objects appear, which you can pretty easily spot yourself. You could skip some puzzles, but the insanely annoying ones weren't skippable most of the time. I wish there was more to this, especially the backstory on Pasuyu…

PLEASE drop the OST, I would love it as background music while I work! Very fun and unique gameplay mechanics with a beautiful, bittersweet plot and lovely, cosy visuals. Some of the puzzles were a little unintuitive but honestly it's nowhere near as hard as the ISOLAND series.
