RISE FROM RUIN is a third-person, character-action game in which you take control of a massive, unstoppable monster, the BEAST. They aim to defend a vast, icy city from relentless, chaotic, hostile forces. The game offers bombastic gameplay and immense battles in which your sheer power is tested against ever-growing enemy forces.
Once a beacon of civilization, the city teeters on the brink of ruin as an overwhelming army of chaos crashes against its walls. Battle through the different sectors of this massive city. Learn the story of the city through the poems. This battle is not just for survival but a clash between order and chaos.
Empowered by ancient forces, the BEAST wields fantastical abilities that reflect this duality, some channeling the controlled might of the city, while others embrace the raw, untamed destruction of the invading horde. A student project that asks, what if Shinji were a viking druid instead of a mech pilot? It's got rough edges. The physics are floaty as all hell and the animations are kinda scuffed. But I think it's a really cool idea with a lot of obvious polish and forethought put into it. The main character model is so cool and I loved the backstory that was presented. There's some cool meta-narrative stuff about destroying the thing you most love to protect it that I think is underbaked but obvious. Overall, even though I lost, I had a great time. I'm also a sucker for sad cello/violin drones so I love the menu music. It's free and I guarantee you will have fun. Play it4 found this helpful
