Irian: City of ruin

It has potential. The controls are a little clunky, and the mouse sensitivity is way too slow, even on max settings and max DPI. The idea is fun, but the game is poorly optimized, nor does it tell you the controls. I accidentally found dash with space, and Q to use my heal ability, but I don't yet understand how to use the abilities.

Irian: City of ruin is a game that I found pretty enjoyable once I got into its combat. It is a third person action roguelike where I play as Saeryeon, a girl who wakes up in the ruined city of Irian with strange powers connected to the Rifts. The story gives the combat a nice reason to exist, but for me the real appeal is fighting through groups of enemies, building up my abilities and seeing how far I can get. The combat is simple to understand but has a nice focus on dodging. I can use normal attacks, special attacks and healing, but avoiding enemy attacks is especially important because a successful dodge slows down time and gives me an opportunity to counterattack. I really liked this mechanic because it rewards me for paying attention rather than simply attacking everything as quickly as possible. Getting a well timed dodge followed by a counter feels much better than just button mashing. The skill system is another part I enjoyed. During combat I can build my attacks around different special skills, and I can change where those skills are placed in my attack sequence.
