“Precision drifts, jumps and water zones"

The unique gameplay defined as "precision drifting" will suit every player looking for technical and precise controls combined with the immediate fun and ease of an arcade game.

“Wide and technical tracks"

Natural environments are enriched and reimagined to create technical racetracks mixing multi-paths water zones and jumps. Inspired by retro arcade rally games the wide surfaces let the player enjoy long powerslides.

“New boost system"

Players can master different techniques for overtaking and exiting a corner thanks to the combination of several boost systems which set the game appart from usual rally games.

“The most addictive racing gameplay"

The vehicle dynamics is based on realistic physics tweaked to enhance the player's drifting ability. The result makes the handling extremely natural, smooth and precise for the most rewarding driving experience.

“Unlock futuristic race cars"

In addition to the arcade and championship mode, a challenge mode will let the player unlock the futuristic racing cars exclusively designed by Anthony Jannarelly.

This is a solid arcade racer that has been downrated by millennials and zoomers ("modern audiences") who can't cope with the facts that the game doesn't have a rewind button and opponents might run into you rather than politely braking. For the people who grew up playing games like this, it's a nice pickup. Not enough games like this with a bright aesthetic, and this is one of the only ones that supports VR. VR works--no frills, no hassle, only complaint is that there's no cockpit cam so you're stuck with dash or third person.

I have to be honest because after looking at the not so enthusiastic headline reviews and the dreaded 'unknown' for Steam Deck compatibility I genuinely thought I'd be hitting the refund button after giving it a try.....yet here I am 3 hours later still playing the game!! So what's it like on Steam Deck? Well, it runs a flawless 60fps (hand held) and 1080p/60fps after minor tweaks of the default video settings when docked. Lossless scaling improves it to 1440p/60fps but introduces some slight distortion around the edge of your vehicle....not enough to make it an irritation but nonetheless, it's there to be seen. The onscreen keyboard is required once to input your name at the beginning of the game and from there onwards everything is accessed via your controller. Right, here's what I like: The handling. Sure, some have pointed out that it's quite tricky to control the powersliding but a little practice, a steady hand and subtle use of the handbrake will reap rewards over time. Good because you can't just powerslide your way to victory....you've got to earn the right to nail those corners and sail off into the sunset. Challenges. There's plenty of them and they should keep you bu…

Abandoned soon after launch on PC, play it on Switch. If you like the genre, also try Ridge Racer 7 on PS3 or RPCS3.

Rise: Race The Future is a futuristic arcade racing game developed and published by VD-dev that embraces speed, drifting, and accessible gameplay over realism. Inspired by the fast-paced spirit of classic arcade racers, the game places players behind the wheel of advanced vehicles capable of traversing a variety of surfaces with remarkable agility. Instead of focusing on realistic physics and simulation-style handling, it delivers an experience built around momentum, stylish driving, and the thrill of mastering challenging tracks. The game's futuristic setting plays a meaningful role in its design. Advanced wheel technology allows vehicles to maintain control across roads, dirt, and even stretches of water, creating race courses that feel more dynamic than those found in many traditional racing games. This concept gives the developers freedom to create unusual track layouts filled with sweeping turns, elevation changes, jumps, and environmental variations. As a result, races rarely feel repetitive, and players are constantly encouraged to adapt their driving style to changing conditions. At the heart of the experience is a drifting system that rewards both aggression and precisio…

You can turn the car more effectively if you do not hold left/right, but instead press left/right several times in a row.
