TL;DR: Racer Overdrive is a short but charming arcade racer that delivers some good moments of gameplay reminiscent of great Arcade racer titles. Don't expect much but have a good time! I was randomly browsing steam when I decided to check the "Upcoming" tab and see what was there. I saw this game, with its full release in 12 hours. I watched the trailer and saw the pretty clear inspiration from the Burnout series with the players ramming cars off the track. That was good enough for me to Wishlist it and buy it for the $6. After 7 hours of playtime, I can say I enjoyed my time. This game has a few things going for it and going against it. For the good: The game captures a sense of speed really well; you feel fast when boosting in this game. That is imperative for an arcade racer. This game also has a pretty good list of race tracks, with some being long straight-away's and some having lots of corners or drift opportunities. The tracks themselves have interesting environments, with about one triggerable "spectacle" that occurs at a set point on every track.
