great arcade racer. The twin-stick steering looks alien for about two minutes and then it just clicks, and from there the flow is instant and the sense of speed is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great, drifting through S bends in full concentration. I never pull a face when I game except with arcade racers, everyone jokes about the ♥♥♥ face but the arcade-racer face is the real one, and the fact I make it tells you how hard these things pull you in. Small stuff I love too, like the sound changing when you drop into a tunnel. Grabbed it on the Steam sale for 5 euros after the jailbroken PS4 version kept dying, runs perfectly on my old rig. The story mode is the stupidest I've ever sat through, and I love stories, sure, put one in a racing game, but this is bland crowbarred ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, skip all of it. And somewhere near the end I worked out why it never fully hooked me. It's lonely. Five locations, plenty of modes, but no actual race, just ghost cars, yours or someone else's, no bumps, no takeover, no competition. So the flow is incredible and it still never pushed me into the challenges, online's dead, and it ends up being a quick lap to reset my brain and nothing more. Dead genre anyway, Ridge Racer 2 is…

**It's a great game**, but it highly depends on how performant your pc is. I had the ability to test it on 2 pcs: Dell Inspiron 3542 та Asus TUF A16 (2025). Characteristics: CPU - Intel Core I3 4030U || AMD Ryzen 7 260 GPU - integrated || Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 RAM - 4gb DDR3 || 16gb DDR5 SSD - SATA 2.5 || M.2 NVME Average FPS: 20 || 165 (with vsync) Resolution: 720x405* || 1920x1080 What did I get? The car turns faster on higher fps! And QUITE noticeably, you could even say that it's "paywalled" behind your pc productivity. I know "delta time" (later DT) exists, but Unity's native implementation starts to get inaccurate as the fps climbs higher and higher. I hope they used DT here, cause otherwise it's a crazy overlook. The car I was using is HPE Dragon, but it's noticeable on every car there is * Now, about the resolution. I got such resolution by changing my screen dimensions using xrandr on Linux, but why? Inside game you can't set resolution lower that 720p, even though in Demo (Sunset Prologue) you can set it to as low as 320x200!! Why isn't it an option in final product if demo has it? And no, game doesn't break or look wrong on such low resoltion, both demo and final ca…

its ok i guess, I'm not the biggest raceist in this side of gaming, but its story is boring the character art looks awful, took a hour to complete and it lacks variety. Its controls are basic but responsive, but its race tracks are pretty bland and it all boils down to either a time trial or drifting to get points or a race, that's the entire game. I got it for 95% off for a dollar and that's about its worth. But i know even for arcade racing there are so many better options out there

Pretty fun arcade racing game. Easy to get into, hard to master. Almost all cars have different driving styles and levels of difficulty. The stories for each character are alright. All Achievements are probably a little difficult to get for the average player, but not impossible. Oh, and the art style and car designs are cool. Overall 9\10 for me!

I just completed one of the story mode paths, fun game! I enjoyed the controls and the ease of learning the twin stick drift setup. I also like that you can decide your own style of driving using more acceleration, brakes, steering, and drift stick as you want to. Fun game that I'm sure I'll re-visit the more difficult modes later on as well as complete the challenges. Definitely a game that's easy to jump in for 15-30 minutes and just casually play through.

Probably the most fun racing game I've played. Goes from trivially easy to controller-crushingly difficult, depending on what campaign you select.
