About Romanizer
Immerse yourself in Roman history with this captivating management game where your mission is to make the Phrygian goddess Cybele accepted into the Roman pantheon. Influence public opinion, meet charismatic poets, and navigate through tumultuous historical events. But beware, a bad decision could easily condemn the goddess to be rejected by the Roman population! Can you convince the Romans to worship Cybele?

Meet Martial, Juvenal, Lucretius, Virgil or Ovid, and try to convince them to sing the praises of the goddess Cybele. Other famous Romans will also cross your path, and you can even ask for help from the gods!

In Romanizer, each of your actions has consequences - positive for some poets, and negative for others. It's up to you to find the balance that will best satisfy all the parties and access the Pantheon of Roman gods!

Conflicts, revolts, assassinations... Many historical events, different from game to game, will disrupt your strategy and challenge your ability to adapt.

If Romanizer is first and foremost a video game, it is suitable for use in the classroom, under the supervision of a teacher, to introduce many concepts of Roman society: religion, acculturation, romanization, beliefs, poetry and poets, theater, etc.

5/10 Minimalistic management sim about Ancient Rome religion. TLDR: while the art here is cute and you may be interested in the described events of Roman history, the gameplay is too simplistic and too random to be enjoyable or even meaningful. Neutral vote Good: + free + cute art + some interesting pieces from the history of Ancient Rome, if you're interested in it Bad: - the core mechanic here is to keep the attitudes of 5 classes of the society to you above zero. Yet you can't see the exact attitude of those classes at a glance. Instead, you need to spend 1 action point (and you have 3 per day) to talk to 5 guys and interpret their replies. The text takes time to appear, and you click to speed it up. Since there are a handful of possible statements these guys can make, most of the text you end up reading is repetitive. You end up in a boring, annoying routine of clicking and reading the same texts over and over. A proper, gamer-friendly way to implement this would be just to show bars or numbers over each guy. Or better just put it somewhere in the UI, and remove the 1 action point cost for learning the current state. - by design, to win here you need to pray for miracles cuz…1 found this helpful
Short, fun, does what it says nicely. It's a good, casual game that has strategy elements and historical references.1 found this helpful
short and sweet
Dictator: Rule the World + Reigns combined together, at least that's what it feels like. Still, the results of some choices do feel not obvious and losing is easy, but perhaps this is part of the charm. Check it out, it's good.
Really great game but I do have one suggestion. The main part of the game is balancing the “Friendship” of the five poets. It would be nice if there was a meter that showed each poet’s feelings on Cybele throughout each play through. As of now, you only see their friendship changes during events and actions.
