About Historia Realis: Rome
Be part of history and strategize your way to greatness in this character-driven, deep simulation of Ancient Rome!
- Assassinate rivals, seduce lovers and betray friends. Join mystery cults, study philosophy or cultivate grapes. Total freedom!
- Play either as historical characters like Caesar, Pompey, Sulla and Marius, or randomly generated ones, forging your own legacy.
- Witness the transformation of Rome into a Mediterranean empire, and play a big or small role in its history.
- Fight in the legions or study rhetoric. Become a lawyer, a priest or a conqueror. It's your history!
- Focus on any of five different attributes: Martial, Oratory, Cunning, Administration and Piety.
- Live a full life, embarking on many different and flavorful endeavors from childhood to adulthood.
- Become a Senator, pass laws and pull the strings from the shadows. Gain power and climb the social ladder!
- Win elections and rise from lower to higher offices, from Quaestor to Praetor and Consul.
- Pass or block motions and laws in the Senate. Be careful not to make powerful enemies!
- Begin your career as a junior officer on a commander’s staff. Prove yourself and rise through the ranks to lead Rome’s armies!
- Fight wars at different levels: as a Tribune, a Legate or a Commander, each with their own unique roles and mechanics.
- Govern the provinces peacefully or use the opportunity to expand Rome's borders.
- Interact with thousands of NPCs, each with their own goals, feelings and relationships. A detailed simulation of Roman society awaits you!
- Rise from the bottom of an intricate social ladder all the way to the top.
- Forge bonds and social alliances with other characters. Call on favors and develop grudges and rivalries.
- Get married, have children and continue playing as your heirs. Make your family's name echo throughout the ages!
- Send your children to live with allied families, or take wards into your own household, allowing characters to teach skills to each other and form lifelong relationships.
- Guide the next generations by arranging marriages and educating your children. Leave behind an example for them to follow or rebel against.
