Rosas are Red

A very unique take on a visual novel that is told by texting through a phone to Rosa and her friend. It was very cute, and the story was short. The art was nice and cute too, and it has multiple endings. Plus it has anime titties, so it gets a pass from me.

The game is pretty decent though I don't think I'd charge $10 for it. The whole game is just a messaging app sort of thing, and while it's well written and has some cute moments, overall the style just doesn't feel much like a game. A lot of it is also promoting the dev's other game Third Crisis. It's not possible to get all pics or achievements in one run of the game, requiring you to play again. The only downside to this is how minimal some changes are. Like having to replay an entire section of the game just to get a picture of Rosa in different color dresses. Even though the game requires multiple playthroughs if you want to 100% it, I just don't really feel it's worth it. I also ran into a crash. I think I was trying too many things at once. I tried the little cat game, check the pointless emails, and bounce back to the actual texts for the story and it crashed on me. I may have been switching too quickly, but I had to mention that I have a experienced a crash during my playtime.

I loved this game! It actually took me by surprise. I had wanted it for a few years and never got around to it. Then I finally got it and kind of expected it to just be a short 2-30 minute game, but to my surprise, it turned out to be a very fun and engaging adult text-based dating adventure! In this game, when it is your turn to respond, you usually get to pick 1 of 3 response types (Dominant/Romantic/Friend). This will kind of steer and determine how your relationship with Rosa goes. I happened to pick mostly Romantic options and was quite pleased. At times, it almost feels lifelike, which I thought was neat and added to the level of engagement. It took me around 4 hours to complete, taking my time. I played on Steam Deck and it was a good experience. I only wish that it was longer, with more dates and that [spoiler]at the end, the player was actually able to go on that real, IRL date with Rosa, so it made the game feel complete. Also would have really liked the game to continue on after Rosa presumably moves in for a IRL relationship.[/spoiler] I know that the Devs literally just released their brand new game, Third Crisis: Neon Nights, but I truly hope that they revisit this ga…

Fun game! One of the more wholesome/slightly versatile pre-set dating sims ^^ The art style is very cute and the voice messages are a nice touch~. Got the Dom/Sub ending 1st as I've played into the character's kinks, and I liked it! Altho, went with the Romance ending 2nd since it was kind-of the main plan originally :sob:, I didn't think kinks would change the dynamic so much but hey! The more you know :3 Like most people said, it's a shame we don't get to do anything with the character in-person rather than in-text, but that could be an avenue you could explore in the next game perhaps! Would love to see more of Rosa, well, and her (our?) friend :)
