Sanatorium Purgatorium

I love this game but it's too short and only has a few endings. It's a really great concept with good art and story but there is a problem with the music looping over and over unless that was intentional? Idk really. I wish they had made it longer but it was good as a short story plus it's cheap. I was really surprised but there was good foreshadowing. Overall, you should buy it - just a few issues they'll probably fix later.

Does having more reviews boost a game's appearance in the steam store? Because that is exactly what I want to do for this game. It needs MORE recognition. This is a short little gem of a horror game. I swear I spent more of the VN laughing than I did scared. It takes a lot of twists and turns and the characters are ridiculously nuanced for the game's length. The art style is beautiful and the english is adorably broken. The broken english honestly makes the game cuter and more charming. It gives me vibes of DDLC but not to the extent that it seems like it borrowed a lot. It is definitely its own story in its own universe and I had so much fun with this little treasure!

This really is a "your mileage may vary" kind of game. The game does have some issues but for me they all balanced out with the fact its an indie game from a non english developer at a very low price point. What lost me in the end was the gore, the story could have been told the exact same way without it, and the way it was used seemed to just be trying to gross you out with it for shock value. Ultimately while I wouldnt recommend the game I wouldnt say its bad, it just isnt for me, which is unfortunate because I thought the premise was very interesting.

This game honestly had me genuinely scared,i have not felt this much horror in a long time ,its a fantastic game with some error in the way its translated but it doesn't take away too much from it ,the story is short but still i highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys psychological horror!!!

Very brief and crude RenPy horror VN. 48 mins for a run-through, not a lot of interactivity. [b]Anyone expecting any H-content, given the Sexual Content tag, will be disappointed.[/b] The presentation isn't particularly good - even the choice of font is annoying, both because it's grey-on-grey and thus barely legible, but also because the typeface is particularly ugly and difficult to parse. [h1]The translation is poor[/h1] It's functional enough for you to follow the plot, but as is typical of Russian VNs, it's got clunky phraseology that makes it awkward and disengaging to read. This is a massive problem for the game, as it is exclusively relying on the storytelling drawing you in. Even without the occasional typo or untranslated flash of Russian text that this game contains, the lack of fluency would still kill the atmosphere, mood, etc stone dead. [h1]The plotting is unoriginal, and ineptly executed[/h1] The film [i]Se7en[/i] was an international blockbuster. Ripping the premise off so unimaginatively doesn't automatically confer any of that film's value to this product.
