✦ AI summary

Players find this game entertaining despite its rough edges, with most acknowledging it delivers fun despite average mechanics and limited enemy variety. The main criticisms center on janky combat, repetitive gameplay elements, and occasional frustrating puzzle design, though the developer's active support and post-game content provide decent replay value. Overall, players view it as a quirky, flawed experience that's enjoyable enough if you adjust your expectations.

Yes, I'm actually going to write a serious review of the zombie nurse game. First, I don't think I need to talk about the nurses' designs, because you can just look at the store page and get an idea. What you see on the store is pretty much as explicit as the game will get AFAIK. What you might not realize from looking at the store page is that this game is actually pretty funny, being self-aware of the absurd concept and leaning into it. This game made me laugh a few times with the characters' motivations and stories.
Story
What's the main character's motivation in Resident Evil? Investigating grisly murders, then escaping a mansion. What's the main character's motivation in Silent Hill 2? Searching for his wife, then confronting his own past and trauma. What's the main character's motivation in Ruined Nurse? Installing the internet. That's it. This guy is hilariously single-minded, because all he wants to do is install the internet at any cost. The main character, Zeul, starts out by receiving a letter asking him to install internet at Ruined Hospital. Note that I capitalized "Ruined" here. That's not an adjective, but part of a noun. A proper n…

This is very weird game. And not in the way you'd think based on the cover art. It's not weird in that it's a "gooner game." IDGAF about that lol. It's weird because it's Schrodinger's Video game. It is both fun, and sucks, simultaneously. It controls...Average. The level design. Average. The puzzles. Average. Yeah, a lot of average. Then there's the combat...it ♥♥♥♥♥♥' sucks lol. The gunplay is, you guessed it, average. But the enemy variety is non existent. Like 3 enemy types the whole game plus one boss. However...there's a BUNCH of post game content that I think WILL improve the experience. Not exactly rushing to complete it since you can get all the achievements in one run (Which I did), but it DOES seem like good replay value if you just wanna play the game as is. That's the most baffling part. Why not lock further achievements behind replayability? You're already trying to be a Resident Evil clone but for gooners. Why not go all in with the replay formula? And with all that said...I still had a fun enough time with it. Dumb fun. Absolutely MINDLESS fun. But the same kinda fun you have when you pop on a "so-bad-it's-good" 80's horror or action movie. The s…

As a 58-year-old who started on Atari 2600, Ruined Nurse actually got me. Few jump scares that landed when the nurse pops out of nowhere – I wasn't expecting that in an indie title. Uniforms are well done, gameplay is smooth, no crashes on my rig. I have a full playthrough on my YouTube channel (58 Year Old Spicy Gamer) – censored for YouTube. Uncut version is on my Patreon. If you like mature horror that doesn't hold back, this is worth the hour.
