✦ AI summary

Players are divided on this experimental game that blends farming simulation with action and stealth mechanics. While some appreciate the creative genre-switching and mysterious narrative twist that keeps things engaging, others find the abrupt transitions between farming, runner sequences, and stealth gameplay jarring and lacking cohesive purpose or story explanation. The game is praised for being cheap and fun despite its unconventional structure, though some feel it's too scattered and poorly explains why these disparate gameplay styles belong together.
Follow for more reviews & recommendations https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44970186/
I'm a bit perplexed by what i've just played if i'm honest... Don't get me wrong i quite enjoyed it but it's a lot of just random tasks into one short game. (Spoilers) You start off in a farming sim, farming, selling, all that sort of stuff and then you're just randomly taken away from that with no warning what so ever and thrown into a temple run style runner. Once you're done with the runner, all hopes and dreams to be back in your nice peaceful farm is then crushed as you're plopped into some stealth game. It plays well, it looks cool, i'm just struggling to see the point or story behind it all?? Anyways, i had fun, and it's cheap, so why not.

Another one of the earliest games I played on Steam. I love the subversion of the farming genre and the mystery genuinely had me intrigued the whole time. Super fun game!

Scapeland is a farming game with a sinister and mysterious twist, plunging you into a desperate mission to find safety. TL;DR at bottom Gameplay: Scapeland starts as a simple farming game, following a faceless protagonist who is trying to make a living. However, after a few days a large military force arrives and you have to flee, drastically changing the atmosphere and style of the game. Before you were a farmer, and now you are a fleeing civilian trying to sneak past patrolling soldiers and cameras without getting caught. Each level provides a different challenge to overcome, and you have to survey the area, learn the patterns of the soldiers and cameras, and make it to the end of the level. There are three main mechanics in Scapeland: throwing objects, cones of vision, and noise. You can throw rocks or bottles that you find in the level to make noise and distract the soldiers so you can get past their cones of vision, which if entered will alert them to your presence and get you captured. Your footsteps also make noise and, naturally, running makes more noise than sneaking. The controls are not complex, (and can be played with a controller, which is better for …
