Horror game about hiding from monsters, not fighting them

Scarred Stars is a psychological survival horror game, without any combat. Your only option to save yourself from the horrible monsters that lurk in the shadows is to hide from them.

Plot

It's the year 1985. Asuka had always been a good girl but she had a friend who was bad influence on her; Momoko. Momoko always tried to egg Asuka onto doing mischevious, bad things. However, one day Momoko actually insists that the duo break into an abandoned amusent park as a dare, only for things to take ugly turn...

Overall a solid game. I won't comment too much on the plot as I want to avoid spoilers with this review, but I will say it felt rather basic as far as horror games go. That being said, it was still fun to play through the game to figure out just what was going on. The ending felt a bit rushed to explain everything, but it was still enjoyable. There was only one part that frustrated me, that being the mirror maze segment, but it was easy once I managed to figure out the trick to getting through it. I give the game 4/5 stars; it looks great, plays well, and the story is decent. Definitely recommend playing it if you like rpg maker style horror games.

I don't want to give it a thumbs down because it's not a horrible game but....it's not good either. The idea behind the story is good and, as far as I can tell, the game mechanics work. On the other hand, being chased feels more irritating than scary, the music often doesn't feel like it fits the atmosphere, and the way the story is told is choppy and disjointed. Like I was able to get an idea of what was going on but there's so many elements that feel lazy or unrelated. If you're really bored then go ahead and play it; it probably won't be the worst game you've played.

Very short game (~1 hour), pretty straightforward puzzles, interface that bugged a couple times. Final plot twist with hints along the way. Not a life-changing game, you get what you pay for.

I liked the story and the characters but getting anything but the true ending makes me sad

Pretty cool. Standard hide & seek mechanics that you see in a lot of horror games. Very nice pixel art.

I played all the endings, but I didn't unlock achievements. I don't know what happened T-T But the game is great, I love the art style and the setting design, and look forward to new games in the future
