What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise SEAL Team 12 as a fun, straightforward top-down shooter with solid arcade gameplay, plenty of weapons, explosions, and a deliberately over-the-top tone reminiscent of classic 80s action games and retro shooters like Commando. The main criticisms are that the game feels slow-paced for both the player and enemies, lacks depth and complexity, and could benefit from updates for modern systems and console releases. Overall, players consider it good value for money as a casual, nostalgia-driven shooter that works well but doesn't offer significant replay value or challenge.
Although the reviews are divided on this game I give this game a positive review. It is a topdown shooter in which you as a seal team 12 member have to stop GOD. The levels are linear and the enemies definitely not the most difficult I've ever seen in a game. However everything works and no bugs make it a nice little game to shoot a bit around in. The story, as seen by the name of your main enemy ;), is not to be taken too seriously with its over the top writing but is at least coherent. Don't expect to play it for many hours but in the end for the €0,98 that I picked this up it is well worth its money.10 found this helpful

Great fun all round and a nice nostalgic feel for veteran shooters like Commando, Ikari Warriors for example. It's a very straightforward vertical shooter with plenty of guns and explosions! Graphics and sound are functional enough and it's very easy to pick up and play. The macho voices are deliberately cheesy and had me thinking of 80s action movies! Overall, A really good old school shooter, which IMHO, there are just not enough of these days.2 found this helpful
Preis Leistung stimmt.
SEAL Team 12 is a deliberately old-school, action-first shooter that embraces arcade design with little concern for realism, subtlety, or narrative depth. Developed and published by Social Loner Studios, the game positions itself squarely in the lineage of classic top-down and twin-stick shooters, prioritizing constant movement, overwhelming enemy waves, and explosive weaponry. It is a title that knows exactly what it wants to be: loud, fast, chaotic, and unapologetically simple, offering a focused experience aimed at players who value reflex-driven gameplay over complex systems. From the outset, SEAL Team 12 establishes a tone that is more tongue-in-cheek than tactical. While the name and basic setup suggest a military theme, the game quickly reveals itself to be closer to an arcade spectacle than a grounded shooter. Players take control of an elite operative tasked with eliminating waves of increasingly absurd enemies, ranging from standard soldiers to tanks, animals, and other unexpected threats. Story elements are minimal and largely decorative, serving only as loose justification for the nonstop action. The absence of a serious narrative allows the game to maintain relentless…
I love this game, I wish they would fix it for modern systems, and release a modern console version.
