A bit clunky interface and visuals are very monotonous. Controller support is bad. Have some redeeming qualities like upgrading system and roguelike type of gameplay. Take on missions and get rewards, collect parts and place them inside slots to rank up your ship. Game run in super small window so you have to stretch it, aspect ratio is off unless screen resolution is changed. Play only when striving for more shoot'em ups.
5 found this helpful

Long and boring overall. Consider trying the demo before buying if it's only a few levels then just play them again and again for like 2-3 hours. If you're still feeling fun or any emotions then you can buy it, else don't. It's not hard, there are some good ideas but well, it's just repeating the very same level without really changing anything nor feeling strong. If you make a mistake, you can die but at the same time if you made a mistake it probably means you were AFK.
Score: N/A Cool art style. Spaceships with forward thruster visual effects able to sit in place and move backwards. Boring gameplay. Extra rewards require tedious activity. Player has OP defensive option on low cooldown. Missions too long without having enough variety. Writing isn't good. Overwhelming amount of unexplained/untutorialized information/options given to player almost immediately.
Sector Six is an indie side-scrolling shooter that combines fast arcade-style combat with deep role-playing mechanics and extensive ship customization in a way that feels far more ambitious than its minimalist appearance initially suggests. While many shoot ’em ups focus entirely on reflex-based gameplay and high-score chasing, Sector Six adds loot progression, modular ship building, and tactical loadout management to create something closer to a hybrid between a classic arcade shooter and a sci-fi action RPG. Beneath its simple silhouette art style is a surprisingly addictive gameplay loop centered around experimentation, progression, and constantly evolving combat strategies. The combat system is immediately satisfying because of how smooth and responsive the controls feel. Ships move quickly across the battlefield while lasers, missiles, energy blasts, and explosions fill the screen during intense encounters. Despite the visual chaos, the gameplay rarely feels unfair because enemy attack patterns remain readable enough to reward awareness and positioning. Players are expected to actively dodge incoming fire, manage cooldowns, and adapt their tactics depending on enemy formation…
Repetitive but I liked it.
