About Silent Sector

Silent Sector is an old-school open world sci-fi RPG with frenetic battles, crude humor, loose morals and cows. Created with endless love; especially for fans of space pirates, sci-fi westerns and alien encounters!

Silent Sector takes us to a remote part of the galaxy where several factions fight each other over the profits in a new gold rush - in pursuit of an extraordinarily valuable mineral called Eldorite.

Our hero comes into this Wild West universe and very quickly loses both their ship and cargo. You must find a way to repay the debt and take your revenge against Admiral Zed. This truly miserable corner of the universe offers you a chance to try your luck at becoming a successful merchant, rich miner, feared mercenary or a famous adventurer.

In the game you will find:
  • Space sim, adventure story, and quick dogfights all in one package.
  • Crawl the large semi-randomly-generated open world space in dozens unique ships.
  • More guns, missiles, lasers and upgrades than a space cow cannot count.
  • Help one of 7 factions destroy their rivals in a series of breathtaking quests and witness the horrible aftermath of your choices!
  • Explore the mysteries of the universe and fulfill countless of random quests and events full of crude humor.
  • Enjoy an atmospheric Wild West inspired soundtrack!

Excellent game with excellent gameplay. The story is a little weak, but the random events and side-questing more than make up for it and it's really just window dressing to get you to the gameplay. The dialogue between your character and other characters is really well written and feels genuine in a way a lot of other games don't achieve. There's some subtle (and overt) references to the other games Rake in Grass has made, most notably Jets n' Guns, which are neat easter eggs. The music wasn't as good as that game unfortunately, but it's not bad by any measure. The gameplay gives you a very wide variety of ships to choose from which fall into a few different roles, and there's a very large selection of weapons and equipment to outfit your ship with to suit your tastes. Ultimately, it's a fun game that respects the player and gives them agency to play how they want. I wish more games were like this, and I wish it was more popular so it could be held up as a symbol of gameplay for other developers to strive for.

Maybe im missing something, but w controller, the same button to exit a menu: B, IS ALSO THE SAME BUTTON FOR CONFIRMATION! why in the ♥♥♥♥ would i want to purchase 3 different ships just trying to exit a menu? running out of credits... Mayb its better w mouse and keyboard, but who plays twin sticks with a mouse and keyboard?

Silent Sector, medium on great script. Mighty in battle with varying degrees of difficulty. I would say this is a hidden gem, but that does not do it justice. Ten minutes into this story and fight, i was hooked. Buying and modifications, ships a bit light on ships. but there's enough. Missions quite variety. Great addictive game.

Fantastic for fans of space sims looking for a lite experience. Able to be enjoyed in quick sessions with plenty of love and style throughout.

Endgame is boring, because of uninteresting combat. There are many guns and ships, but most are useless. The capital ships are super slow and awful to turn, taking way too much time (5x compared to fighters) to go from where you drop in an area to the point of interest. Somewhat grindy. It's not bad, but it's not fun either.
