Players are divided on this tower defense game. Some appreciate it as a straightforward, colorful tower defense experience with decent difficulty scaling and achievements that can be completed in a few hours, while others criticize it as a generic, dated game with uninspired mechanics, poor controls, clunky scrolling, and unit balance issues that make it inferior to established titles like Kingdom Rush or Plants vs. Zombies. The colonial setting and weak connection to the Selknam people also draw negative comments about authenticity and creativity.

Tags: Tower Defense Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Straightforward cookie cutter tower defense in a dated unity engine, poor animations, uninspired strange colonial setting, uninspired mechanics. You keep seeing the same sprites rushing in simple paths, which you block using the classic trinity of warrior, archer, healer. Defeat waves, grind forward. Nothing special. There is an endless mode which would have been decent to check out right away to see what the game looks like once it is fully unlocked but it is grayed out until you complete the campaign. Conclusion: I would rather play Kingdom Rush or PvZ again than bother sitting through this. It is very redundant and inferior in comparison.
This is a quick and fun tower defense style game. As other reviewers have said it's not really one of great depth and once you've got the hang of spamming archers then most levels are straightforward. This is also a simple game to get "perfect game" with 15 do-able achievements and a useful guide to getting them all is on the community page. Took me under 4 hours play time to complete and get perfect game. My one annoyance with this game is the game board doesn't quite fit on one screen and the scrolling is clunky.
Selknam Defense is easy at first, but later levels demands from you something more than just blindly putting the units on map, and that's why I enjoyed this Tower Defense game. However, the controlls in this Selknam Defense are just terrible, the time for deploying unit is also some kind of joke after some stages, and when you mix both... yeah, sometimes you just reset the level even before you will start it. Sadly, it also feels like a game made for mobiles, even tho some sources says that it was released almost year later for iOS. Oh, and the type of units are also strange, since more than half of them aren't dealing any/much damage. If you think you can deal with all of this, you already played most interesting TD games on Steam and you are up for some challenge, you should give it a try.
Good tower defense game, colorful graphics, some story. The difficulty ramps up like a b*tch every once in a while, but otherwise it's fine.
I don't like the mechanics of the game. It's a td where I can't maze, and the soldiers I place out move without me asking them. I'm not even gonna take time to elaborate this, it's just a very plain experience. Also, the connection to Selknam is vague at best.
