Players are divided on this puzzle platformer's unconventional control scheme where you guide a wisp rather than controlling the character directly. While some appreciate the unique mechanic and its short, focused experience with a cool aesthetic, others find the controls frustrating and poorly executed, compounded by technical glitches, repetitive music, and overall painful gameplay that doesn't justify the time investment.
It's a cool idea, with gorgeous art, you control a wisp that helps the girl get through obstacles, she follows you, and you have to keep her safe and alive. Pretty unique game. The issue is, the controls are super janky. The girl sometimes does things I didn't even tell her to do, resulting in really frustrating deaths. For example I'll just be moving the wisp forward, which should tell the girl to walk/run towards me, but instead she jumps up super high and then falls a long distance to the ground and dies on impact. Idea 10/10, execution not so much.
I did not like this game. As a platform game, its gameplay and controls are just plain bad and the graphics are whatever.
This is a puzzle platformer where you don’t get to control the main character. Instead, you play as a wisp that the main character follows around. This makes the timing harder, but that’s the main conceit of the game. It is short, you can complete it in under 2 hours, but that also means it doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s challenging in parts, but it never really got frustrating. Add in a cool aesthetic and it is worth picking up.
I reserve writing reviews to when something is mind blowingly good or bad. There's a glitch that makes your character jump up the entire screen and fall to her death immediately. There's the music that is so repetitive that it will drive you insane. and there's the fact that they tried to do something unique with the controls but it just turned it so god awful. certainly do not waste your money or time on this title and go play inside, limbo, or even the very indie, very short "seen".
3 hours of pain
Fantastic game to play. It's short, but still awesome
