About Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn

The world is on the brink of disaster. Our biggest celebrities have revealed their true faces -- demons intent on moronizing the public to assume control of the planet. Only one man can save us: a towering Chinese orphan named Shaq Fei Hung. Trained by a kung fu master, Shaq must journey to the most perilous corners of the world to fight evil and realize his destiny as the chosen one.

Shaquille O’Neal returns to “settle the score of ‘94” in this complete reimagining of the Shaq Fu legend. Players take control of the unstoppable Big Diesel as he brawls his way through the hordes of Hollywood and Hell in classic side-scrolling beat ‘em up style.

• Voiced by the real deal, Shaquille O’Neal.
• Fight powerful, outlandish celebrities in boss battles that will make your eyes water.
• Master devastating combos, earth-shattering power moves, and a variety of weapons to conquer the evil hordes.
• Revel in an exclusive new rap track from Shaq Daddy himself.
• Transform into the legendary Big Diesel and Shaqtus to swiftly dispatch your enemies en masse.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs, attempting to scam PC gamers into paying money for a free mobile app. This mobile app is a crowdfunded effort from Russian developers featuring the voice and likeness of Shaquille O'Neal but none of the quality... I guess a lot of sports celebrities aren't afraid to put their name in bad places for a paycheck. This is a great example of that. The game itself looks alarmingly similar to the Unity game template, Beat 'Em Up Game Template from Osarion, on the Unity Asset Store. I'm not saying that's 100% certain, and if it is the case they have heavily modified and reskinned it... but at the end of the day it's not about where the game came from but what it is, and just like what you'd expect from a mobile app or from a Russian asset flip, the game itself here is incredibly shallow and pointless. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard…

Bought on sale for $1.49, definitely worth it. Loads of childish humor, beat up a Temu Trump robot, play as Shaq in a mech suit. This is nothing like the original but a good time none the less. If it's cheap, good for a laugh. Looks really good and surprisingly good brawler, very basic. Wouldn't call it a kids game but if your kids watch PG-13 movies, i'd say it's fine. Wasn't the nostalgia trip I thought it would be but still a good time.

Picked this up for around $2 during spring sale. I feel like i got my money's worth, definitely not worth $20. Beat the game on Steamdeck (normal) in a few hours on and off. If you're into Achievements, they can be obtained pretty easily. I had no issues playing on Steamdeck.

I never played the original but seen it burned online for years. I went into this with no nostalgia and an open mind. It's VERY mixed. On one hand i enjoy the absurdity, visuals, dialogue and SOME of the gameplay. Once the flying mages were introduced the game play falls apart hard and the game shows it's many many flaws. The bosses are way too easy and offer no challenge or fun. TLDR: fun on a sale but don't expect much polish.

the funny humor and just the controls work nicely

The ironic part about this is that I actually liked the original Shaq Fu. Had a specific charm to it and it was one of the only SNES games I had. This is not the same game. Like at all. At first it was cool, and funny, but the entire first level is just 4th wall break jokes that get less funny, and its just nonstop enemies every screen. I ♥♥♥♥ you not, during the 2nd level I got an achievement for defeating 500 enemies. What the ♥♥♥♥
