About Sheryl ~The Alchemist of the Island Ruins~
Altona is a town built on the outer rim of an island surrounding a massive chasm called Abyss. Abyss is home to other intelligent species, monsters, and ruins of ancient civilizations.
Residents explore Abyss to find valuable artifacts and materials for alchemy. Since Sheryl has no money, she must procure her ingredients by exploring Abyss and encountering others.
Along the way, she meets new friends and uncovers a conspiracy. She finds herself ensnared in a web of deception she must endeavor to untangle as she delves deeper.
In this mix of low-stakes slice-of-life and high-stakes drama, Sheryl must remain positive, helping make Altona a better place while she strives to erase its darkness once and for all!
Discover new recipes and synthesize fantastic items! Crafting new weapons and armor is the key to success in battle, and most quests will be cleared by creating items rather than prevailing in combat.
In Abyss, Sheryl must befriend the various species that reside on each layer to proceed further downward. By assisting them and boosting her fame, she can purchase better recipes and perform even more alchemy.
Rather than turn-based battles, Sheryl fights in top-down real-time combat, fighting with staff, bow, and magic to take down enemies! Avoid foes' biggest attacks, or else Sheryl will fall in a flash!
Explore the Darkness of Abyss
Each layer contains a different biome and unique residents. It's up to you to discover what wonders and horrors await in its darkest depths!
Master Action Combat
New abilities are unlocked throughout the game, which allow you to fight however you like! Become a talented mage or destroy your enemies through pure melee mastery!
Synthesize Everything
Use alchemy to create over 100 items, pieces of armor, and weapons! All of these creations will help Sheryl in her quest to explore Abyss and save her atelier!
What Steam players say

Players appreciate the game's massive scope, decent art style, and humorous story with surprising tonal shifts, but widely criticize the poorly designed corruption mechanics that feel consequence-free, unclear progression systems, and disappointing lack of meaningful erotic content relative to the game's length. The grinding and excessive item collection feel tedious, with limited character interactions and few unique scenes per character, making the experience feel padded rather than rewarding for players seeking adult content.
Honestly, I don’t understand all the positive reviews. The game seriously lacks erotic content and is far too long for the very little payoff it offers. Progression is often unclear, and it’s frustratingly hard to know what you’re supposed to do to unlock scenes or advance the story. There are way too many objects and collectibles, most of which feel completely pointless. The gameplay often boils down to NPCs constantly asking for items or money with no meaningful reward in return. There’s no real chemistry with the other characters, and the number of scenes with them is very limited—maybe three or four per character at best. On top of that, there are fewer than ten girls in total, and the scenes themselves become repetitive very quickly. The visuals are actually quite good: the illustrations, level design, and pixel art are actually well done. That’s what makes this such a waste. With a stronger focus on the erotic content and better character development, this could have been a very good game with a compelling story. Instead, it feels unfocused and ultimately disappointing.2 found this helpful
A good game overall. "Sheryl" is a rare specimen of the action-HRPG genre. I can remember only two games that can fit the same niche: "Brave Soul" and "VH GAME". The game gave me cognitive dissonance. I'll try to explain without spoiling: imagine you are watching Konosuba and in the 3rd episode, it shows you Berserk level of violence and then in the 4th episode, it turns back into comedy isekai. My thoughts were like "What the heck? What should I expect from the strory?". The other thing worthy of mention: it's very easy to become OP. I finished the game without a single defeat and the most dangerous moment was when I fell into a trap and had to rely on luck to get out.1 found this helpful
Please install patch first... ***WARNING!!!*** This game has a lot of R`@PE and tragic story the game page trick you really bad. Aside from that this game offer a lot of scene and pixel animation. like almost 100 or more scene in recollection. (I lose count) the story is funny but sad at the same time. Bad thing is the optionis too little and the grind and grind if play normally it could take forever to farm all ingredient.
Pretty cute, oddly hilariously gory at times, I suggest doing a lewd playthrough then NG+ for a virgin run.
Yes
