Shidunzi Parkour

Shidunzi Parkour is one of those games that sounds completely ridiculous when I explain it, but somehow that is exactly what makes it fun. I play as a stone street bollard running through city streets, and the whole thing is built around dodging, crashing and trying to survive for as long as possible. It is not trying to be serious at all, and I think the silly idea gives it a lot of personality from the moment I start playing. The main Parkour Mode uses a simple three lane runner setup, so the controls are very easy to understand. I move between lanes to avoid the other stone bollards scattered across the road, and the longer I survive, the more challenging things become. It is mostly about timing and quick reactions, and I found myself getting into that familiar rhythm where I make one good run, fail, then immediately want to try again because I know I can get further. Music Mode is probably my favourite part because it completely changes the goal. Instead of carefully avoiding everything, I am encouraged to smash into other bollards in time with the music. It turns the same basic idea into a silly rhythm game where crashing is actually what I want to do. I enjoyed the contrast…
