For the small amount I've played I think this is a really cool game especially for the on sale price. My only real complaints are not being able to change my shift buttons (I use B and X on Xbox controller for a lot of racing games) and not being able to change the volume of the ui when navigating sound otherwise very cool game.3 found this helpful
Since i got used to the controls quite easily, let me give a few tips for all those soon to be Takumis out there. 1. Dont force too much weight before a corner by shifting >2 times in less then a few seconds, Your almost guaranteed to spin out. 2. Start around the outside line, then dive into the inside line at the apex then go back out, I know this avoids the little bag thing or a clipping point ig, buts its the most fast and efficient racing line found in many motorsport. If you need help knowing how to *take* a corner, then id reccomend for hairpins braking and shifting down to 3rd as you slow down, then turning in to make the car lose traction on the rear. Now obviously you can take corners faster if its a fast sweeper, but i found this to be the most efficient. Oh yeah and also i enabled legacy handling and tire physics, i think these techniques are possible on other settings though.1 found this helpful

Sideways is a really fun arcade driving game. The cars feel dynamic and responsive, and the physics are surprisingly coherent while still keeping the gameplay fast and entertaining. I also really enjoyed the vehicle customization, which gives you more freedom to make the car feel like your own. Overall, the game is simple to pick up, satisfying to play, and has a lot of personality. I highly recommend giving it a try!1 found this helpful
I’ve been having a great time with this game. If you’re into drifting, this game is defo worth checking out. And it works like charm on my SteamDeck. The first thing that stands out is the visual style. With a clean and unique art direction that gives every environment its own atmosphere. The drifting feels satisfying and rewarding. It’s easy enough to pick up, but there’s plenty of room to improve your technique and chase smoother, more stylish runs. Whether you’re trying to perfect a corner or just cruise around, the gameplay stays engaging. What I appreciate most is how relaxing the overall experience feels. The combination of the visuals, driving mechanics, and atmosphere makes it easy to lose track of time. If you enjoy arcade-style drifting with gorgeous visuals and a chill vibe, I’d definitely recommend giving Sideways a try. Looking forward to seeing how the game continues to evolve!
This is a really fun game and honestly a good break from all the realistic looking graphics racing games or sims and this is just perfect for people that just wanna take a break from anything slow things down and just chill and drift the soundtracks although only a few is amazing the graphics are very nostalgic feeling maybe even add a crt effect for fun? Anyways the gameplay is still a bit raw though like the car frequently turns upside down and spin out. The customization although limited are pretty good maybe add a livery editor idk just saying. The UI is very clean but still lacks that soul that for example night runners and need for speed series have. Overall its a good game just a bit undercook 8/10
