About Slayscape

Slayscape is a free-to-play, roguelike, first-person battle royale incorporating elements of card collection and classic RPGs. Dungeon content is procedurally generated, allowing every player to modify and adjust the experience for all players based on the cards they play before each session. Stylized visuals ensure that the game looks good today and will continue to look good for years to come. Designed for cross-platform play with simple controls perfect for keyboard & mouse, gamepad controller, or Steam Deck!

Slayscape targets the mid-core audience while including “first-person shooter optimizations” that will satisfy the most hardcore competitors. Features include frequent ticks-per-second server updates, server-side logic to ensure fair play and a high level of competitiveness, and server-side limits to player awareness. Hardcore players will appreciate Slayscape's “extraction-like” elements and “winner-takes-most” mechanics, with twitch-friendly gameplay that celebrates their personal skill and rewarding them for their prowess.

Other features include a player alliance system that will give strategically-minded heroes an advantage over their enemies, opportunities for players who die to return to the same game as Player-Monsters and get revenge on their killers for alternate rewards, and a minimum reward for even those players that don’t “win” by killing the final boss or escaping the dungeon but still finish a session. Exciting new character classes, powerful traits, and even alternative monster options are unlocked through normal gameplay mechanics.

Battle Royale

While it might look like a more traditional RPG or roguelike, the core of Slayscape is a session-based, action-oriented, PvPvE Battle Royale! Each dungeon is procedurally-generated but modified by cards assigned by players before each session. Players start at the bottom and fight their way to the exit on the top. But it's not as simple as surviving one battle at a time: Once the first player ascends the stairs from the first level, the clock starts ticking as poisonous fog, lava, acid, or even stinging insects begins to fill the dungeon. Only the most hardy challengers will survive against enemy NPCs, other players, a death fog, and the final boss, but there can only be one grand prize winner: the player who escapes the dungeon first!

Roguelike

Slayscape also has many elements of roguelikes! Each dungeon is procedurally-generated with every new session, but that's not all! At Pangaea, our company tagline is “Every gamer is a game changer” and Slayscape is no exception—special cards will be lootable in each dungeon that players can use to change how future dungeon are built! Dungeon cards can affect which rooms are added, the type and number of some traps, which types of creatures spawn, or even change the rules of the session to fit their playstyle! Players themselves will have a significant effect on creating a unique dungeon crawl for all players, every game!

RPG Flavor

RPG enthusiasts will find a lot to love in Slayscape. Each new session feels like a fresh start and you'll always remain competitive alongside players with more experience and gametime under their belts. Start each game by customizing your character with several temporary traits. Explore dungeons with interesting enemies, dangerous traps, and clever puzzles. Along the way, you'll get temporary improvements to gear, health, and overall power. Fight or become monsters with clever powers that make sense. Earn gold with each play session that you can use to buy new character classes, character traits, and new types of playable monsters. You'll be able to choose from dozens of heroes!
