About Solbane
Solbane is a boss-rush shoot 'em up that blends the retro arcade experience with modern RPG elements, preserving the arcade gameplay feel with upgraded modern visuals and modernized experience. Combat the Solar threat in this bullet hell space shooter!

Journey throughout the solar system in a story-driven setting to eliminate 14 bosses, each with its own complex mechanics that will regularly demand a change of play style, strategy, and customization.

Evolve your spacecraft and gameplay from a vast arsenal of over 50 abilities and three pilots, each with their own unique solutions to deal with the threats of the Solar system.

Build example #1:
When playing as the Aggressor you can customize a melee-based build which involves getting very close and personal with the adversary. This class has a giant hammer attached on its front that can be rotated around the ship, making a devastating whirlwind. Coupled with other short-ranged abilities, it embraces a high risk high reward gameplay. Whirlwind your enemies until they are rubble!
Build example #2:
The Architect can have a rapid-fire playstyle by utilizing as many drones as possible. These drones are mini versions of the Architect and the more they can be generated, the more projectiles will be launched at your enemy. Strength in numbers is what this build is all about. It allows YOU to be the bullet hell.

Solbane is, as advertised, a boss rush shmup featuring 14 stages each with their own unique boss, and 3 customizable ships to take on the campaign with. It's not really much of an RPG, since there's no grinding or real variables as to how strong you are at any given time, except that you unlock more upgrade points and customization options as you go through the campaign. Unfortunately, it's weighed down by some questionable boss design - a lot of instakills feel cheap even though the game says it will usually warn you, the next-to-last boss Archangel works differently from all of the other bosses, and not to the game's benefit, and there weren't really any bosses that I felt I wanted to try going up against a second time after winning - and the lack of difficulty modes, so while I could play with the other two ships I didn't use to complete the campaign, there's not really much left for me after just a little over an hour of play, and there's no easy mode (or RPG-style grinding) for less skilled players, either. I can't say too much about the customization since I only used one ship, the Architect, but once I unlocked and found a setup I liked, it worked on every boss after that.…5 found this helpful
This isn't a difficulty curve, it's a difficulty elevator shaft.1 found this helpful

Woow, I just finished the game, the bosses were amazing to beat all of them. Well yes after some pain and cry I managed to beat them all. The game overall is fun to play, I really like the auto shoot game mechanic plus paired with life steal... awesome! However I am not a big fan of games that have too many stuff on the screen and glowing, that was irritating me, somewhere in the middle I got used to it and the first few bosses were problematic due to this. Definitely I am waiting for the second journey through the Sol system! And btw the music makes the game!1 found this helpful
