SoulFeast(灵魂盛宴)

Tofu asset TD with horribly bad gameplay, and UI for poor gaymers, but probably here to harvest my data for the CCP.

SoulFeast(灵魂盛宴) is a pretty interesting take on the tower defense formula because it takes the basic idea of defending against waves and mixes it with a card based system. I am building a team of soul creatures by choosing cards from my preparation deck, then placing them on the battlefield to deal with the incoming enemies. It reminded me of the general idea behind Plants vs Zombies, but the three dimensional presentation and the much larger focus on card combinations give it its own identity. The card system is easily my favourite part. There are different types of creatures, including resource producers, melee fighters, ranged attackers, support units and defensive characters. Some of them also have their own unusual abilities, so choosing what to bring into a battle actually matters. I liked having to think about the balance of my team instead of filling everything with damage dealers. A good defensive unit or support ability can make a big difference when the enemy waves start getting tougher. The relic system adds another layer that I really enjoyed. It's made of equal parts stolen Unreal Marketplace assets and AI slop, insulting every gamer and every real developer everywhere. So, "SoulFeast(灵魂盛宴)" is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either.
