A good idea in a bad execution. The game itself is full of bugs and quite frankly the vehicles are not very controllable. However the graphics are okay. Only a handful of games are tinkering with ekranoplans sadly that's why i got it for myself. Buy it only if you are ekranoplan enthusiast and its on sale.

This is quite possibly the worst game I have ever played. Looks more like a final project for a high school project than a game. Clearly made by someone living in his mother's basement somewhere in Eastern Europe. Everything about this game sucks ass. Ban Ekranoplans unfair.

A simulation of Ekranoplans. Can't find that anywhere else.

Soviet Monsters: Ekranoplans is a niche simulation-strategy title that builds its entire identity around one of the most unusual chapters of Cold War engineering: the ekranoplan. Developed by santasco.com and published by IV Productions, the game places players in charge of operating and managing massive Soviet ground-effect vehicles—hybrids that skim just above the surface of water using aerodynamic lift rather than fully taking to the air. From the outset, the game’s appeal lies almost entirely in this premise, offering a subject matter rarely explored in games and promising an experience that blends aviation, naval operation, and bureaucratic oversight into a single package. The core structure mixes mission-based piloting with light management elements. Players are tasked with maintaining a fleet of ekranoplans, assigning crews, monitoring resources, and completing a variety of state-issued missions. These assignments range from transporting hazardous or sensitive cargo to supporting military exercises, rescue operations, and experimental tests tied to a fictionalized Soviet program. Progression is framed through medals, experience points, and prestige, creating a sense of forw…

Soviet Monsters : Ekranoplans is a simulator of the enormous Soviet era behemoths of the Caspian Sea that used the “Wing In Ground” or “Ground Effect” that made the Lotus Formula 1 team such a force in 1977 and 1978. The physics behind it all is more than I will go into here, that’s what google is for, but suffice it to say that these things were efficient, fast, and big enough to scare the faeces out of the CIA in the 60s. In the game, you are given the job of captaining one of these beasties, selecting and training crew, picking missions, and trolling off to either deliver cargo, blow things up, or do other militaristic things in one of five locations, each of which is enormous. Once you get a mission from the muckety mucks with scrambled egg on their hats you pick a crew, pick a craft from the 12 in the game and trundle off to do as you are told just like the good little son of the Родина you are. I was sadly unable to do much of this thanks to “finding” the land at high speed, hitting islands that I couldn’t steer around, and generally getting frustrated enough with the control scheme that I ended up shutting the game down and firing up an old friend of an FPS and slaugh…
